Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead kitchen operations in a busy Singapore coffeeshop. You will oversee daily food preparation, maintain quality and hygiene standards, manage staff, control costs, and ensure efficient service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all kitchen operations including food preparation, cooking, and service to ensure smooth workflow
  • Supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff to uphold high performance and discipline standards
  • Maintain consistency in taste, portion size, presentation, and overall food quality
  • Plan and organize daily food preparation based on business volume and operational needs
  • Develop and refine menu items by analyzing customer preferences, market trends, and operational requirements
  • Monitor and control food costs, portion sizes, wastage, and inventory levels
  • Conduct regular stock checks and coordinate with suppliers to secure adequate ingredient supply
  • Implement proper food storage, handling, and preparation procedures to ensure safety and quality
  • Ensure compliance with Singapore food safety, hygiene, and workplace regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and related areas
  • Manage kitchen manpower and scheduling to optimize productivity
  • Coordinate effectively with the service team during peak periods to ensure smooth operations
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve kitchen efficiency and reduce costs
  • Address customer feedback on food quality and take corrective actions as needed
  • Foster a positive, professional, and disciplined kitchen culture through hands-on leadership

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Relevant food hygiene certification is preferred
  • Experience in coffeeshop, casual dining, Chinese cuisine, local cuisine, or high-volume F&B environments is advantageous
