LSBF is seeking a visionary and industry-connected leader to guide the strategic growth of our School of Biomedical & Life Sciences.

About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Studies, you will provide academic and strategic leadership for LSBF's Biomedical & Life Sciences portfolio.
You will oversee programme quality, curriculum development, faculty leadership, industry engagement, and academic governance while helping to strengthen LSBF's reputation within the biomedical, healthcare, and life sciences community.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating across academic, industry, and professional environments, acting as an ambassador for the School while fostering meaningful partnerships that benefit students and graduates.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership & Governance
- Lead the academic quality and strategic direction of the School.
- Ensure programmes remain current, industry-relevant, and aligned with emerging developments in healthcare and life sciences.
- Participate in Academic Boards, Examination Boards, programme reviews, and quality assurance activities.
- Work closely with university partners and regulatory bodies to maintain academic standards and compliance.
- Support programme validation, accreditation, and enhancement initiatives.
Industry & Professional Engagement
- Develop strategic partnerships with healthcare institutions, laboratories, biotechnology companies, pharmaceutical organisations, and professional bodies.
- Position LSBF as an active contributor within the biomedical and life sciences ecosystem.
- Represent LSBF at industry forums, conferences, academic events, and professional networks.
- Facilitate guest lectures, employer engagement activities, and industry projects.
- Create opportunities for student internships, experiential learning, and professional exposure.
School Growth & Innovation
- Contribute to the growth and development of the School.
- Identify emerging trends and opportunities within biomedical sciences, biotechnology, healthcare innovation, digital health, and related disciplines.
- Recommend new programmes, specialisations, professional certifications, and industry collaborations.
- Support student recruitment initiatives through outreach activities, talks, webinars, and industry engagement.
Faculty Leadership & Student Success
- Lead, mentor, and develop academic staff.
- Foster a culture of academic excellence and innovation.
- Support student progression, engagement, and achievement.
- Drive initiatives that enhance graduate employability and learning outcomes.
Laboratories & Learning Resources
- Provide oversight of laboratory-based learning environments and resources.
- Support planning and enhancement of laboratory facilities and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and operational requirements.
Teaching (Preferred)
Candidates who can contribute to teaching within one or more of the following areas will be viewed favourably:

Qualifications
- Master's degree required.

- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Understanding of academic governance, quality assurance, and higher education regulations is advantageous.
