Role Overview
We are looking for an Accounts Executive to support the finance team with bookkeeping, AP processing, cost allocation, reconciliations, and month-end schedules for several companies within the Group. This role will work closely with a Senior Accountant and support the accounting function for assigned entities in Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, and other entities within the Group.
The role is execution-focused and suitable for someone who is detail-oriented, organised, and looking to build strong accounting experience, and the successful candidate will gain hands-on exposure to the full accounting cycle across local and regional operations. This role is ideal for a motivated accounting professional eager to build strong technical fundamentals and leverage modern financial tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain full sets of accounts for assigned entities.
- Process AP invoices, payments, and bookkeeping entries.
- Assist with bank reconciliations, supplier reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, and balance sheet schedules.
- Allocate shared costs across different projects / cost centres based on actual usage, so each project carries its fair share.
- Update the weekly cashbook to keep track of the cash position across assigned entities.
- Actively utilize accounting systems and AI tools to streamline daily data entry and reduce manual error.
- Prepare month-end supporting workpapers for Senior Accountant review.
- Assist in GST returns, Corporate Income Tax filings, and other statutory filings across the Group's local and regional entities.
- Coordinate daily administrative and financial routines with banks, vendor contacts, and internal departments.
- Support ad hoc finance-related tasks assigned by the Senior Accountant and Finance Manager.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or full-set accounts.
- Familiar with Xero accounting software is a plus.
- Good Excel skills.
- Careful and detail-oriented, organised, and comfortable owning deadlines.
- Proficient in both English and Mandarin, to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders across Greater China and other regional markets.
- A team player who is comfortable handling routine accounting work and willing to learn.
