The posting

The Junior Quality Assurance Executive will support the Quality Assurance team in ensuring that food safety and quality standards are consistently maintained across supply chain, production, outlets, and related operations. The role involves assisting with food safety management systems, audits, documentation, supplier controls, testing, and investigations to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) based on HACCP principles and applicable local and international food safety regulations.
  2. Assist in conducting food safety internal audits to verify the effectiveness and compliance of FSMS implementation.
  3. Support the QA team in monitoring and maintaining consistent food safety and quality standards across different sites.
  4. Assist in implementing supplier food safety controls, including supplier assessments and food safety audits.
  5. Assist in preparing and conducting food safety and quality training for employees and operational teams.
  6. Maintain and update QA documentation, including SOPs, manuals, policies, procedures, forms, and records related to food safety and quality.
  7. Assist in reviewing and updating food safety procedures and documentation to ensure compliance with changes in regulatory and company requirements.
  8. Conduct routine inspections to ensure proper facility maintenance, cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation in accordance with food safety requirements.
  9. Monitor and verify that company food safety and quality procedures are properly followed and documented.
  10. Assist in arranging and monitoring microbiological testing of food products, including maintaining test records and supporting trend analysis.
  11. Assist the QA team in liaising with relevant regulatory authorities, including the Singapore Food Agency (SFA), where required.
  12. Assist in conducting facility food safety audits and preparing for third-party audits, such as SS444:2018 and ISO 22000.
  13. Support food safety consultancy, audits, and assessments for sister companies, partners, and franchisees when required.
  14. Assist in preparing periodic FSMS implementation progress and performance reports and support reviews of system effectiveness.
  15. Work closely with the Operations team to investigate customer feedback, food safety incidents, non-conformances, and quality issues, and assist in identifying corrective and preventive actions.
  16. Conduct routine inspections and checks on products processed at production facilities to ensure compliance with established quality and food safety standards.
  17. Participate in third-party food safety audits and regulatory inspections, including preparation of relevant documents and follow-up on audit findings.
  18. Perform other QA-related and ad hoc assignments as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Safety, or a related discipline.
  • Preferably 1 year of experience in QA/QC; fresh graduates with relevant internship experience may also be considered.
  • Experience in the food manufacturing, food service, or hospitality industry will be an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and GHP.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to food safety and quality.
  • Positive working attitude with good adaptability.
  • Proactive, responsible, and willing to learn and take initiative.
  • Good organizational and documentation skills.
  • Good computer literacy.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both spoken and written.
  • Comfortable working with operations teams and conducting routine inspections and audits.
