The posting

Guided by CCMC’s Vision and Mission, the Growth Groups and Young Adults Lay Ministry Staff partners the church’s pastoral and lay leadership to cultivate healthy, Christ-centred communities through Growth Groups and the Young Adults ministry.

This role focuses on supporting and strengthening Growth Group and Young Adult leaders, helping them build healthy, Christ-centred communities where members experience belonging and spiritual growth. This role is primarily focused on leader support and ministry coordination rather than direct pastoral oversight of all groups.

The incumbent is accountable to the Pastor-in-Charge (PIC) and works closely with the relevant Pastor (Growth Groups), Chairpersons, and ministry leaders. The role requires a willingness to work non-traditional schedules, including evenings, weekends, andoccasional public holidays, with flexibility to take time off on weekdays, subject to prevailing church policies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Growth Groups Ministry

a. Vision & Alignment

  • Work closely with the Chairman and Pastor (Growth Groups) to support the implementation of the ministry’s vision and plans.

b. Pastoral Care & Ministry Support

  • Assist in providing pastoral care and visitations to Growth Groups and their members.
  • Encourage and support Growth Group Leaders through regular contact and mentoring.
  • Support leader gatherings for encouragement and renewal.

c. Leader Identification, Training & Development

  • Help identify and equip and current and emerging Growth Group Leaders.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating leader training and mentoring.
  • Provide guidance and resources to help leaders care well for their groups.
  • Assist in recommending and sharing suitable leadership resources.

d. Member Integration & Group Formation

  • Support processes to welcome and place members into appropriate Growth Groups, with sensitivity to life stage, spiritual needs, and relational dynamics.
  • Assist in the formation of new Growth Groups as the ministry grows.

e. Systems, Data & Administration

  • Maintain and update Growth Group records and data.
  • Assist in planning and organising key Growth Group events.

2. Young Adults Ministry

  • Work closely with the Chairperson and Pastor (Young Adults) to support ministry direction and activities.
  • Encourage and support Young Adults Growth Group Leaders.
  • Collaborate in planning and running selected Young Adults programmes and events.

3. General: Pastoral Care, Coordination & Church‑Wide Responsibilities

  • Provide pastoral support to church members as appropriate.
  • Serve during weekend services and selected church events.
  • Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by the Pastor‑in‑Charge.

4. Requirements

  • Relevant theological studies, qualifications and/or experience in similar ministry capacities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with pastors, chairpersons, volunteers, and church members.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and church events, as required.

The Lay Ministry Staff works collaboratively with pastors, chairpersons, and volunteers. This role focuses primarily on coordination, support, and equipping rather than sole leadership of ministries.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
