Job Description

Shape the Stories behind Breakthrough Innovation.

NUS Enterprise is at the heart of NUS’s innovation and venture creation ecosystem, working across research, talent, industry, capital and global markets to turn frontier science into ventures, technologies and impact.

We are looking for a Media Relations Lead with strong news instincts and a flair for storytelling. You will uncover stories worth telling, turn complex ideas into compelling narratives, and shape how NUS Enterprise and its innovations are seen in Singapore and around the world.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role at the intersection of storytelling, reputation and innovation.

What You’ll Do

  • Find and shape stories: Uncover newsworthy ideas, breakthroughs and people across research, ventures and programmes. Develop sharp angles, headlines and narratives that stand out.
  • Lead media strategy: Develop and execute media strategies for major announcements and initiatives. Pitch stories, manage media queries, and lead interviews, briefings, visits and events.
  • Advise and protect reputation: Work with senior leaders and internal teams to sharpen messages, anticipate media interest and advise on issues and crisis communications.
  • Build influence: Develop trusted relationships with journalists and editors across Singapore, the region and internationally. Lead PR agencies and coordinate activity across markets.
  • Measure impact: Track media performance and turn insights into stronger strategies and results.
  • Support strategic priorities: Contribute to key communications initiatives and management reports, ensuring narratives are clear, compelling and impact-driven.

Qualifications

What You Bring

  • 12–15 years of experience in media relations, public relations or corporate communications, including leadership or supervisory experience.
  • A proven track record of developing and delivering media strategies at scale.
  • Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills, with strong instincts for what makes a story newsworthy.
  • Experience managing media engagements independently, from interviews and briefings to major launches and events.
  • Strong understanding of the Singapore and regional media landscape; international experience is an advantage.
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex subjects and translate them into compelling narratives and sound media advice.
  • Experience managing PR agencies, advising senior stakeholders and handling issues or crisis communications.
  • Curiosity, energy and persistence, with a nose for interesting stories and the drive to pursue them.

You’ll Stand Out If You Have

Experience in higher education, research, deep tech, AI, innovation, venture creation or start-ups, established media relationships across business, technology or research, and international PR experience, particularly in Silicon Valley, Munich, China or Japan.

Why Join NUS Enterprise?

Work at the intersection of science, technology, entrepreneurship and global markets. You could be shaping the story of breakthrough research, a bold new venture or a major global initiative.

Your work will help determine which ideas get noticed, which stories travel, and how NUS Enterprise is seen by the world.

Ready to shape the conversation?

Send us your resume. No cover letter is required. Instead, tell us about the media story you are most proud of shaping, and why you think it worked.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
