About the Opportunity

Are you an experienced fund operations professional with strong expertise in fund administration, investment operations and investor servicing?

SIM is seeking a Manager / Senior Manager – Fund Operations & Investor Relations to take a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our Singapore Variable Capital Company (VCC) and private-credit sub-fund.

This is a broad and high-impact role that combines fund operations, investment administration, financial controls, service-provider oversight, investor relations and compliance support. You will work closely with SIM management, the investment team, Compliance, fund administrators, professional advisers and investors to ensure the effective and controlled operation of the funds.

The successful candidate will be expected to take ownership of operational processes, strengthen controls, proactively identify and resolve issues, and provide reliable operational and investor support in a fast-paced alternative investment environment.

What You'll Do

Fund Operations & Financial Controls

  • Oversee the end-to-end operational lifecycle of fund activities, including subscriptions, redemptions, transfers and distributions.
  • Review and challenge NAV reports, reconciliations, fee calculations, expense allocations and other fund accounting deliverables.
  • Investigate operational discrepancies and ensure timely resolution with fund administrators and relevant service providers.
  • Monitor fund cash positions, liquidity requirements and upcoming funding obligations.
  • Review payment instructions, supporting documentation and transaction records prior to approval by authorised personnel.
  • Establish and maintain robust operational controls, procedures and documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness and timely execution.

Private-Credit Investment Administration

  • Oversee the operational administration and settlement of approved investments, including underlying funds, commercial paper and direct lending transactions.
  • Monitor investment drawdowns, interest payments, maturities, repayments and other contractual obligations.
  • Coordinate with the investment team, counterparties, banks and service providers to ensure transactions are completed accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Monitor outstanding and overdue items and proactively escalate exceptions, risks and operational issues to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records of investment transactions and supporting documentation.

Service Provider Oversight & Fund Reporting

  • Act as a key point of contact with fund administrators, custodians, banks, auditors, tax advisers, legal advisers and other professional service providers
  • Oversee service-provider deliverables and monitor adherence to agreed timelines, service standards and operational requirements.
  • Maintain the fund operating calendar and ensure key operational, reporting, audit, tax and regulatory deadlines are met.
  • Review and coordinate information required for audits, financial statements, tax filings and regulatory submissions.
  • Prepare and present management reports covering AUM, investor flows, cash positions, investment activity, distributions and key operational matters.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls and operational efficiency.

Investor Relations & Relationship Management

  • Serve as a senior day-to-day contact for investors and prospective investors on fund operations, onboarding, transactions, statements, distributions and other administrative matters.
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with investors, service providers and other external stakeholders.
  • Support investor and prospect meetings by preparing briefing materials, coordinating follow-ups and ensuring timely responses to operational queries.
  • Coordinate investor presentations, fund updates, due-diligence questionnaires and other investor communications.
  • Maintain accurate investor and prospect records and ensure CRM information is complete and up to date.
  • Escalate investment advice, complaints and matters requiring authorised decision-making to the appropriate personnel.

Investor Onboarding, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Oversee the investor onboarding process, including subscription documentation, KYC information, tax declarations and supporting documents.
  • Work closely with Compliance and fund administrators to ensure appropriate AML/CFT checks, sanctions screening and periodic reviews are completed.
  • Monitor operational risks, control gaps and exceptions, and recommend appropriate remediation.
  • Support the development and maintenance of operating procedures, controls and governance frameworks.
  • Ensure fund and investor information is handled with a high level of confidentiality, accuracy and integrity.

Governance & Management Support

  • Prepare management information, operational reports and materials for internal management meetings and relevant governance forums.
  • Provide management with timely updates on operational risks, investor activity, fund liquidity, transactions and outstanding matters.
  • Support the implementation of new funds, investment structures, service providers and operational processes.
  • Participate in projects and initiatives relating to process improvement, systems implementation and operational enhancements.
  • At Senior Manager level, take a broader leadership role in setting operational standards, strengthening governance and driving continuous improvement across fund operations.

What We're Looking For

Education

  • Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualifications or certifications in fund administration, investment operations, compliance or AML/CFT (e.g. ICA, IBF) will be advantageous.

Experience

  • Typically 8–12 years of relevant experience in fund operations, fund administration, fund accounting, investment operations, investor services or client servicing within asset management, wealth management, private markets or financial services.
  • Strong working knowledge of fund dealing, NAV processes, reconciliations, investor onboarding and operational controls.
  • Experience with alternative investments, private credit, VCC structures or similar investment vehicles will be an advantage.
  • Candidates with broader operational leadership and relevant financial-services experience may also be considered.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of fund operations, fund accounting and investment transaction processes.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, with the ability to analyse operational and financial information.
  • Familiarity with fund administrator portals, CRM systems and investment/fund operations platforms.
  • Good understanding of KYC/AML requirements and investor documentation.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies, assess operational risks and drive resolution.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with fund administrators, banks, professional advisers and other external service providers.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage with investors and senior management.
  • Able to take ownership of issues, exercise sound judgement and escalate matters appropriately.
  • For Senior Manager candidates, experience in leading teams, managing operational functions or driving cross-functional initiatives will be advantageous.
