About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer to lead the business of a growing fintech and payments company.

The role will have overall responsibility for the strategic direction, business performance, operational management and organisational development of the Singapore entity. Working closely with the leadership team and key stakeholders, the Managing Director / CEO will be responsible for strengthening the existing business, identifying new opportunities and supporting the company's broader expansion into international markets.

This is a senior leadership position suited to an individual with a strong understanding of financial services, payments, banking and business operations, combined with experience in building relationships with financial institutions and leading organisations through periods of growth and development.

The successful candidate will provide both strategic leadership and hands-on business direction, balancing commercial objectives with sound governance, risk management and operational discipline.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Strategy & Leadership

  • Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the business.
  • Develop and execute business strategies aligned with the company's growth objectives and long-term direction.
  • Translate broader business objectives into clear priorities and targets for the management team.
  • Monitor business performance and ensure appropriate actions are taken to achieve agreed objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen the existing business and develop new areas of growth.
  • Provide regular updates to shareholders, the Board and senior stakeholders on business performance, priorities and key developments.

2. Business Growth & Market Expansion

  • Drive the continued development and growth of the company's fintech and payments-related business.
  • Identify new business opportunities, partnerships and potential markets for expansion.
  • Evaluate opportunities to enter new markets and develop the appropriate commercial and operational approach.
  • Work with the relevant leadership teams to establish sustainable business models and execution plans.
  • Support the company's broader regional and international expansion initiatives.

3. Banking & Strategic Relationships

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, financial institutions, payment partners and other strategic stakeholders.
  • Develop partnerships that support the company's business objectives and future growth.
  • Represent the company in senior-level discussions and negotiations with key external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Head of Banking and relevant business functions on strategic financial-institution relationships.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen the company's overall financial and payments infrastructure.

4. Financial & Business Performance

  • Maintain overall oversight of the entity's financial and business performance.
  • Work closely with Finance and the leadership team on budgeting, financial planning and resource allocation.
  • Ensure business resources are deployed effectively in support of strategic priorities.
  • Monitor key financial and operational indicators and drive appropriate improvements where required.
  • Balance growth objectives with sustainable financial and operational performance.

5. Governance, Risk & Controls

  • Provide leadership in establishing and maintaining appropriate corporate governance and internal control frameworks.
  • Ensure business activities are conducted with appropriate consideration of operational, financial and business risks.
  • Work closely with Compliance, Risk and other relevant functions to maintain appropriate governance standards.
  • Promote a strong culture of accountability, control and responsible business management.
  • Ensure material business and operational risks are appropriately identified, escalated and addressed.

6. Operational Leadership

  • Oversee the overall operation of the Singapore entity and ensure effective coordination across business functions.
  • Work with functional leaders to improve operational efficiency, processes and organisational effectiveness.
  • Ensure business priorities are translated into effective execution across the organisation.
  • Provide direction on significant operational matters and facilitate cross-functional decision-making.
  • Encourage continuous improvement as the organisation scales.

7. Organisation & People Leadership

  • Lead and develop the senior management team and create a strong leadership culture.
  • Set clear expectations and business objectives for functional leaders.
  • Empower senior leaders to own their respective areas while maintaining appropriate oversight.
  • Build organisational capabilities required to support continued growth.
  • Identify and develop key talent within the organisation.
  • Foster a culture focused on accountability, collaboration, performance and sustainable growth.

8. Board & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as a key representative of the Singapore entity to the Board, shareholders and senior stakeholders.
  • Present business performance, strategic priorities and significant developments to the Board and relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide clear recommendations on business opportunities, risks and organisational matters.
  • Maintain effective communication between the Board, shareholders and management team.

Requirements

Experience

  • Significant senior leadership experience within fintech, payments, financial services, banking or a closely related industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in a Managing Director, CEO, General Manager, Deputy General Manager or comparable senior leadership position.
  • Experience leading business strategy, operations and organisational development.
  • Strong exposure to payments, remittance, financial services or related business activities.
  • Experience working with banks, financial institutions, payment partners or other strategic financial-services stakeholders.
  • Experience developing and maintaining senior-level business relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience in business development, strategic partnerships and identifying new market opportunities.
  • Experience overseeing financial performance, governance, risk management and operational effectiveness.
  • Experience leading and developing senior management or cross-functional teams.
  • Exposure to business expansion or development across multiple markets is highly valued.
