About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Manufacturing Technician – Tester to join our Singapore manufacturing operations. This role requires a strong foundation in technical testing methods and a commitment to a safe and orderly work environment.

Compensation

Pay rate: SGD 2,800 – 3,600 per month (minimum Diploma required), plus shift allowances and overtime pay.

Applied Materials determines the pay rate in your final offer, based on your qualifications and relevant experience.

What You Will Do

  • Use routine work orders, schematics, wiring diagrams, parts and wire lists, and verbal or written instructions to build, repair, and/or test electrical, electro-mechanical, vacuum, and pneumatic assemblies, subassemblies, and components
  • Perform electro-mechanical assembly operations, troubleshooting, and repair; identify and correct errors in a timely manner
  • Use test fixtures, electronic measurement equipment, leak detectors, and/or vacuum pumps to validate assemblies, subassemblies, and components
  • Enter data on computer terminals covering work progress, labour hours, and expenses; perform computer programming or software tasks as directed
  • Receive parts and conduct audits to confirm availability for build, test, and repair; inspect parts for defects; contribute to process troubleshooting and improvement
  • Observe all safety standards; maintain a secure, clean, and healthy work environment; attend required health and safety training; promptly report accidents, injuries, hazards, or emergencies

What We Are Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

  • Technical Diploma in an engineering or related discipline
  • No minimum experience required. Experience in a technical testing or manufacturing environment is an advantage.

Key Competencies

  • Analytical thinking with the ability to apply scientific methods to a variety of technical activities
  • Good understanding of how the testing team integrates with broader manufacturing operations
  • Ability to recognise and solve typical problems in own work area without supervisory approval, drawing on established procedures and scientific methods
  • Clear and effective communication skills to exchange technical information with team members and supervisors

Physical Requirements

This role is hands-on and can be physically demanding. It may involve standing for extended periods, walking, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, working in confined spaces, and operating heavy machinery. Work takes place in a clean-room environment requiring appropriate PPE such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields.

Normal colour vision is needed to read wiring colour codes. You will also need to be comfortable working in noisy environments.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
