Marketing Manager – Social App

Job Summary

We are looking for a hands-on Marketing Manager to lead the launch and growth of a social networking app.

The role will focus on user acquisition, retention, community growth, events and product operations. You will work closely with marketing, product, development and external partners to build an active user base and continuously improve the user experience.

Key Responsibilities

1. User Acquisition & Growth

  • Develop and execute user acquisition strategies across online and offline channels.
  • Manage KOL/influencer collaborations, social media campaigns, paid advertising and ground promotions.
  • Develop referral and viral growth initiatives to expand the user base.
  • Monitor acquisition performance, CAC and marketing ROI.

2. User Retention & Engagement

  • Develop initiatives to improve user activation, engagement and retention.
  • Monitor Day 1, Day 7 and Day 30 retention and identify reasons for user churn.
  • Implement activities, rewards, social features and campaigns to encourage repeat usage.

3. Community Operations

  • Build and maintain an active and engaging user community.
  • Monitor DAU, MAU, user interactions, matches, posts and other key engagement metrics.
  • Identify changes in user activity and implement improvements where required.

4. Event Planning

  • Plan and execute online and offline social activities for users.
  • Develop events that encourage participation, interaction and User-Generated Content (UGC).
  • Monitor event participation and continuously improve activity formats.

5. Data Analysis

  • Analyse user acquisition, conversion, retention and engagement data.
  • Identify drop-off points within the user journey and recommend improvements.
  • Monitor key metrics including CAC, LTV, conversion rates and ROI.
  • Prepare regular operations and performance reports.

6. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with developers, product managers, designers, customer service, marketing teams, KOLs and business partners.
  • Coordinate operational requirements and ensure timely follow-up across different teams.

7. Product Operations

  • Collect and analyse user feedback, bugs and product improvement requests.
  • Prioritise operational and user-experience issues.
  • Work with product and development teams to continuously improve the app.

8. Incident & Crisis Management

  • Respond promptly to technical issues, payment problems, user complaints and other operational incidents.
  • Coordinate with development and customer service teams to resolve issues and communicate with users when necessary.

  • Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC)
  • Daily and Monthly Active Users (DAU/MAU)

Requirements

  • Relevant experience in growth, user operations, community operations, digital marketing or consumer technology.
  • Experience with social apps, consumer apps, marketplaces or other digital platforms is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of user acquisition, activation, engagement and retention.
  • Familiar with TikTok, Xiaohongshu (RED), Instagram, Facebook and KOL/influencer marketing.
  • Experience with paid advertising and digital marketing campaigns.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand user funnels, retention, CAC, LTV and ROI.
  • Good project management, communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Resourceful, hands-on and comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment.
  • Able to work flexible hours during launches, campaigns and major events when required.
