Job Scope

You will report directly to the Hardware Lead. Your daily schedule will include frequent interactions with a multi-disciplinary team, and you need to be equally comfortable working at sea trials and a normal desk in the office. You will need to work in Singapore.

  • Design and Implement overall Mechanical Systems of Autonomous Platforms: Hovering Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (HAUVs)
  • Design of mechanical components, mechanisms and electronics housings in CAD.
  • Conduct Finite Element Analysis Simulation on design components for structural integrity and stress failure assessment.
  • Drafting of 2D drawings for fabrication and assembly.
  • Assembly and testing of designed mechanical components in the workshop and testing in real world environments.
  • Sail out to sea for testing and evaluation of completed mechanical designs and other robotic systems.
  • Gather user requirements in collaboration with management team and customers.
  • Establish test procedures for mechanical quality control and regulatory compliance.

Desired Qualities and Skillsets

  • B.Eng in Engineering (Mechanical), or related experience.
  • 0-3 years of experience in mechanical product design from concept to product delivery to customers.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks or equivalent engineering CAD design software.
  • Experienced with prototyping and various manufacturing methods ranging from 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC, welding, composites etc.
  • Experienced with Finite Element Analysis and Computational Fluid Dynamics simulation modelling such as SolidWorks, ANSYS, OpenFOAM or equivalent simulation software.
  • Experienced with corrosion control methods and thermal design methods is a plus.
