About Aprisium

Aprisium is a Singapore-based DeepTech company developing IoT-enabled solutions for real-time, autonomous contamination detection and monitoring. We are seeking a Mechatronics Design Engineer to develop practical, reliable designs for our sensor analysers and associated equipment.

Position Overview

The Mechatronics Design Engineer will develop mechanical assemblies and integrated mechatronic systems from concept and CAD modelling through prototyping, testing and production support. The role requires hands-on design skills in Autodesk Fusion 360 and SolidWorks, together with an understanding of mechanical, electrical, control and fluidic interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Design and CAD

• Develop 3D parts and assemblies, detailed 2D manufacturing drawings and bills of materials using Autodesk Fusion 360 and SolidWorks.

• Design analyser enclosures, brackets, mechanisms, fixtures and component layouts, considering tolerances, material compatibility, sealing, accessibility and serviceability.

• Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), tolerance analysis and design for manufacture and assembly (DFM/DFA).

Mechatronic System Integration

• Integrate motors, actuators, pumps, valves and sensors into mechanical assemblies, working with electrical and software engineers on interfaces and control requirements.

• Design fluidic routing and component mounting for sampling and analyser systems, considering leak prevention, maintenance and reliable operation.

Prototyping Testing and Improvement

• Build and assemble prototypes using methods such as 3D printing, CNC machining and sheet-metal fabrication.

• Plan and perform functional, dimensional, fit and reliability checks; document results and resolve design or assembly issues.

• Use engineering calculations and appropriate CAD simulation tools to assess loads, motion or thermal behaviour, and verify key assumptions through testing.

Manufacturing and Supplier Support

• Work with suppliers and fabrication partners to review manufacturability, clarify drawings and evaluate materials, components and production methods.

• Support the transition from prototype to production, including assembly instructions, inspection criteria and troubleshooting.

• Improve existing designs to reduce cost and assembly time while maintaining required performance and quality.

Documentation Collaboration and Safety

• Maintain controlled CAD files, drawings, bills of materials, design revisions and test records.

• Participate in design reviews and coordinate technical changes with R&D, engineering, procurement and operations teams.

• Incorporate safe operation, maintenance access and relevant product requirements into designs; follow workshop and laboratory safety procedures.

Key Requirements

Education

Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

Experience

• Relevant hands-on experience in mechanical or mechatronic product design, including CAD modelling, prototyping and design validation.

• Experience taking designs from concept to fabrication and assembly. Experience with instrumentation, automated equipment, sensor systems or fluidics is advantageous.

Skills

• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Fusion 360 and SolidWorks for parametric modelling, assemblies and manufacturing drawings.

• Ability to read and prepare engineering drawings, specify tolerances and select suitable materials and fabrication processes.

• Working knowledge of motors, actuators, sensors, pumps, valves and mechanical interfaces with electronics and controls.

• Practical skills in prototype assembly, measurement, testing and troubleshooting.

• Familiarity with CAD simulation, basic PLC or microcontroller control, and electrical schematics is advantageous.

• Clear technical communication and the ability to manage design files and collaborate across engineering disciplines.

Personal Attributes

• A practical, proactive approach to problem solving with strong attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently, respond to design feedback and manage competing priorities.

• Interest in developing reliable products for environmental monitoring.

What We Offer

• Competitive salary and benefits package.

• A collaborative working environment with opportunities for hands-on product development.

• Opportunities to develop technical skills and contribute to innovative environmental monitoring technology.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
