Job Requirements andResponsibilities
Candidates must have sufficient subject knowledge to teach at least two of the following four subjects at secondary-school level: English, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, as well as the language skills necessary to conduct lessons naturally in both Japanese and English.
Candidates must also have sufficient Japanese proficiency to clearly communicate students' academic progress to parents and staff. The recruitment process will include an interview and conversational assessment conducted in Japanese.
Key Responsibilities
As a Multi-Subject SecondarySchool Teacher:
• Teach at least two of the following subjects: English, Mathematics, Physics, orChemistry
• English: Academic English, Reading, Writing, Report and Essay Writing,Vocabulary, etc.
• Mathematics: Lower Secondary Mathematics to approximately IGCSE E Mathematics level
• Physics: Lower Secondary Science to approximately IGCSE Physics level
• Chemistry: Lower Secondary Science to approximately IGCSE Chemistry level
Teaching Material Preparation:
• Prepare textbooks, worksheets, lesson materials, model answers, and other teaching resources.
Basic to advanced IT skills required for teaching material preparation and online instruction, including experience using Microsoft Office, Slack, Dropbox Business, Zoom, and similar tools
Previous experience teaching IBPhysics or Chemistry is not mandatory. Candidates with strong subject knowledge who are interested in expanding their teaching responsibilities to IB-level courses through training, lesson preparation, and independent study are also encouraged to apply.
As part of the recruitment process, candidates may be asked to complete written assessments in the subjects they intend to teach, as well as conduct a demonstration lesson.
Parent and Customer Communication:
• Provide parents with updates regarding students' classroom performance, level of understanding, areas for improvement, and future learning plans.
• Participate in parent-teacher meetings when required.
• Participate in parent information sessions and provide updates on course content and student learning.
About Our Company
Waseda Singapore is a Japanese educational institution operating two campuses in Singapore, with a total enrolment of approximately 500 students. Since its establishment in 1983, we have provided education to children from Japanese families living in Singapore and have grown into one of the largest Japanese tuition centres in the country.

There are two main types of classes:regular term-time classes and seasonal intensive courses.
Regular classes are generally conducted after school, typically from 5:00 p.m. onwards. During school holiday periods, classes may also be scheduled in the morning.
The standard work schedule is approximately 5.5 days per week, consisting of five weekdays plus one Saturday or Sunday every other week. Working schedules may vary depending on the academic term.
Our students range in age from 6to 18.However, this position is expected to focus primarily on secondary-school-age students.
Teachers are expected to engage students effectively, motivate them to learn, and create a positive and encouraging classroom environment.
