Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Operations Assistant Manager to support the management team in overseeing the company's day-to-day F&B operations.
The successful candidate will assist in managing outlet operations, manpower deployment, staff performance, inventory, food quality, customer service, cost control and compliance with company SOPs and food safety requirements.
This is a hands-on management position suitable for an individual who is able to lead teams, solve operational issues, coordinate across different locations and support management in improving operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
l Assist the Operations Manager in overseeing daily operations.
l Ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day operations in accordance with company SOPs and operational standards.
l Supervise and coordinate operational supervisors and operational staff.
l Lead, coach, motivate and develop staff to maintain good service and operational standards.
l Monitor staff attendance, deployment, manpower requirements and work schedules.
l Coordinate manpower deployment according to business and operational needs.
l Conduct regular operational inspections with company SOPs standards.
l Monitor food quality, preparation standards, customer service, cleanliness, hygiene and overall outlet conditions.
l Ensure compliance with company SOPs, food safety, hygiene and workplace safety requirements.
l Monitor inventory, stock movement, ordering, receiving, storage and stock rotation.
l Work with teams to minimize food wastage, stock losses and unnecessary operating costs.
l Monitor operational expenses and support cost-control initiatives.
l Review daily sales and operational reports and highlight significant issues to management.
l Assist in monitoring outlet performance and implementing improvements where required.
l Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally and ensure timely service recovery.
l Identify operational problems and work with relevant teams to implement corrective actions.
l Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training and development of operations staff.
l Conduct regular coaching and performance follow-ups with supervisors and team members.
l Ensure proper opening, closing, cleaning, cash-handling and other operational procedures are followed.
l Coordinate with suppliers, maintenance contractors, delivery teams and other business partners when required.
l Support food preparation/production operations where applicable and ensure proper standards are maintained.
l Assist management with operational planning, new initiatives and process improvements.
l Prepare and maintain operational reports, records and documentation.
l Support internal and external inspections, audits and compliance requirements.
l Deputise for the Operations Manager when required.
l Perform other duties and operational responsibilities assigned by management.
Requirements
l Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in F&B, catering and food production operations.
l Previous supervisory or management experience is preferred.
l Experience overseeing more than one outlet or location will be an advantage.
l Strong leadership and people-management skills.
l Good communication and interpersonal skills.
l Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
l Good understanding of F&B operations, customer service, food hygiene and workplace safety.
l Experience in inventory management, manpower planning and cost control.
l Able to work independently and make sound operational decisions.
l Proactive, responsible and hands-on with a strong sense of ownership.
l Good computer skills and ability to prepare basic operational reports.
l Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.
