The posting

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead business operations across Singapore and the Asia region. The role is responsible for driving operational excellence, business growth, profitability, client satisfaction, and the successful delivery of projects while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.

Business Leadership & Performance

  • Drive profitability, operational performance and sustainable business growth across assigned operations.
  • Maintain accountability for operational performance, strategic direction and ongoing business development.
  • Establish operational and financial targets aligned with budget and margin expectations.
  • Contribute to business, operational and financial planning activities.
  • Monitor emerging market, industry and regulatory developments across the region.

Business Development & Sales

  • Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities across the Southeast Asia region to achieve revenue and growth targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, ensuring a high level of customer engagement and satisfaction.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of commercial and technical proposals in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Promote and present the company's services and solutions to clients, providing value-added recommendations that address their operational and business needs.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and ensure opportunities are accurately recorded and tracked within the company's CRM and business systems.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to expand market presence and strengthen the company's competitive position within the region.

Client Delivery & Contract Performance

Ensure contracts and projects are delivered to client expectations while maximising commercial and operational performance by:

  • Overseeing the successful delivery of projects and contractual commitments, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Implementing and maintaining company policies, standards, and operational initiatives.
  • Building strong client relationships through effective communication, negotiation, and commercial management.
  • Monitoring and reporting on HSEQ, financial, technical, and operational performance in accordance with agreed client requirements.
  • Driving continuous improvement by reviewing operational processes and identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and service delivery. Conducting regular client engagement activities, including site visits and customer feedback reviews, to strengthen relationships and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensuring technical solutions are delivered effectively and aligned with client and business requirements.
  • Promoting a customer-focused culture and ensuring awareness of client requirements across the organisation.

Operations Leadership & Team Management

Lead and develop the operations team to ensure effective, efficient, and compliant business operations by:

  • Driving the implementation of company policies, standards, and operational initiatives.
  • Ensuring compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements through regular audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture through effective communication and cross-functional teamwork.
  • Providing strong leadership, coaching, and guidance to support employee development and team performance.
  • Promoting proactive problem-solving, innovation, and operational excellence across all areas of responsibility.
  • Building positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives.

Safety Leadership & HSEQ

Champion a strong safety culture and ensure the highest standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental performance by:

  • Leading by example and promoting safe work practices across all operations.
  • Fostering a proactive safety culture where employees are empowered to identify hazards and stop unsafe work.
  • Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of HSEQ initiatives and compliance programmes.
  • Ensuring adherence to all company HSEQ policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Investigating, reporting, and escalating safety incidents in accordance with established company procedures.
  • Driving the successful delivery of HSEQ objectives, action plans, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promoting safety awareness and accountability at all levels of the organisation.

Financial Management & Governance

Ensure sound financial management and compliance with company policies by:

  • Overseeing financial performance and cost control measures to support profitability and business objectives.
  • Monitoring and managing work-in-progress (WIP), debt collection, and cash flow performance.
  • Managing procurement activities to achieve value, cost efficiency, and commercial benefit for the business.
  • Working closely with finance stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and informed decision-making.
  • Promoting financial accountability and ensuring timely collaboration between operational and finance teams.
  • Ensuring all financial transactions and business activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, ethical standards, and governance requirements.
  • Identifying, escalating, and addressing any concerns relating to financial controls, compliance, or probity in a timely manner.

Quality Management & Compliance

Support the effective implementation and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance with API Spec Q2 by:

  • Ensuring the QMS is established, implemented, maintained, and continually improved in accordance with API Spec Q2 requirements.
  • Promoting compliance with quality standards, policies, and procedures across all operational activities.
  • Driving initiatives to identify, prevent, and address non-conformities, while supporting corrective and preventive actions.
  • Embedding a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
  • Promoting awareness of customer requirements and ensuring they are consistently understood and met.
  • Supporting quality audits, reviews, and improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness and service delivery.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Business Management or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in operational leadership within the Oil & Gas, Energy sector.
  • Proven track record of driving business growth, profitability, strategic planning, and operational excellence.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets and P&L performance.
  • Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary operational teams.
  • Management of maintenance, testing, repair and overhaul scopes on offshore pedestal cranes
  • Offshore inspection work scopes including in depth knowledge of NDT and lifting equipment.
  • In depth knowledge and experience of rope access
  • Overhauling of drilling equipment
  • Overhauling of BOP hoist equipment
  • Working knowledge of API Spec Q2 and quality management systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
