The posting

Beyond Legal LLC is a full-service Singapore law firm advising individuals, businesses and organisations across a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters.

We are looking for a meticulous, resourceful and proactive Paralegal to join our team.

This is a dynamic, hands-on role for someone who wants broad exposure to legal practice rather than being confined to a single practice area. You will work closely with our lawyers across different matters and practice groups, supporting cases and transactions from commencement through to completion.

The role will suit someone who is organised, adaptable, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and able to take ownership of their work.

Key Responsibilities

Legal & Matter Support

  • Assist lawyers across a range of practice areas, including civil and commercial litigation, corporate and commercial matters, family law, insolvency and restructuring, arbitration, intellectual property, conveyancing and other general legal matters.
  • Conduct legal research and assist with preparing case summaries, chronologies, research notes and other materials required by lawyers.
  • Assist in the drafting, preparation, review, proofreading and formatting of legal documents, including pleadings, affidavits, submissions, correspondence, agreements, resolutions, court documents and transaction documents.
  • Assist with the preparation and organisation of hearing, trial, mediation and arbitration materials, including bundles, authorities and supporting documents.
  • Attend court hearings, conferences, meetings, mediations and other proceedings with lawyers where required.
  • Assist with eLitigation filings, court-related submissions and the monitoring of filing deadlines and procedural requirements.
  • Assist with due diligence, document review, document collation and transaction support for corporate and commercial matters.
  • Liaise with clients, counterparties, external counsel, government agencies, courts and other third parties in connection with ongoing matters.
  • Maintain accurate and organised matter files, correspondence, records and supporting documents throughout the lifecycle of a matter.

Client & Practice Support

  • Assist lawyers with the opening, progression and closing of client matters.
  • Coordinate appointments, meetings, commissioning of affidavits and statutory declarations, and other matter-related arrangements.
  • Follow up with clients and relevant parties for documents, information and administrative requirements necessary for the progression of matters.
  • Work closely with the firm's Operations and Administration team on matters such as conflict checks, client onboarding, billing information, disbursements and file administration.
  • Monitor key dates, deadlines, hearings and other matter milestones and ensure that the relevant lawyers are kept updated.
  • Provide general legal and practice support as required depending on the needs of the matter and practice group.

What We Are Looking For

  • Diploma or Degree in Law, Legal Studies or a related discipline.
  • Prior experience in a Singapore law firm or legal environment is advantageous, although fresh graduates with a strong interest in developing a career in legal practice are welcome to apply.
  • Strong command of written and spoken English, with good drafting, proofreading and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in other languages or dialects is an advantage.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to manage multiple matters, priorities and deadlines concurrently.
  • Resourceful and willing to learn, with the ability to work independently while knowing when to seek guidance.
  • Comfortable working across different areas of law and adapting to the requirements of different lawyers and matters.
  • Professional and confident when communicating with clients, lawyers, courts and external parties.
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute beyond a narrowly defined job scope when required.

What You Can Expect

At Beyond Legal, you will gain exposure to the workings of a full-service law firm and have the opportunity to work alongside lawyers with different areas of expertise and experience.

Rather than being limited to repetitive support work or a single practice area, our Paralegals are expected to be involved in the progression of matters and develop a practical understanding of how legal work is managed from start to finish.

You will work in a collaborative environment where initiative, curiosity and good judgement are valued, with opportunities to develop your legal knowledge, practical skills and understanding of legal practice in Singapore.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
