Job Summary
Join Art Trails as a part-time Art Instructor to teach children aged 3–14, delivering engaging art lessons that develop skills and creativity while managing classroom activities and supporting studio initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Conduct art classes for children aged 3 to 14, adapting teaching methods to individual student abilities and learning paces
- Demonstrate step-by-step techniques in drawing, painting, oil pastels, watercolour, acrylics, clay, and mixed media to enhance student skills
- Guide and encourage students to develop creativity and artistic confidence through structured lessons and creative projects
- Manage classroom activities to maintain a positive, safe, and productive learning environment
- Prepare and organise art materials and supplies for each class session
- Develop and arrange lesson plans aligned with the studio’s curriculum while incorporating personal creative ideas
- Support additional studio responsibilities such as taking photographs and assisting with social media content
Required competencies and certifications
- Proven art teaching experience with children, preferably aged 3 to 14, to effectively deliver age-appropriate instruction
- Strong drawing and painting skills demonstrated through a portfolio of original artwork
- Ability to communicate artistic concepts clearly and patiently to young learners
- Confidence in managing small groups of children independently
- Diploma or Degree in Fine Arts, Visual Arts, or related field, OR substantial professional art-teaching experience
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience teaching art to children aged 3–14
