Role: Manager / Executive, Industry Development, Partnerships & Marketing

About Singapore Water Association

The Singapore Water Association (SWA) is the industry association representing Singapore’s water sector. We bring together companies, professionals and partners across the water ecosystem to strengthen industry capabilities, promote innovation, facilitate business opportunities and support the internationalisation of Singapore water solutions.

As SWA advances its SWA2.0+ direction, we are strengthening our role as a platform that connects members, industry, government, asset owners and international partners to create greater value and opportunities for the water sector.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a proactive and energetic individual to join our Secretariat and contribute to the next phase of SWA’s development.

This is a broad-based role spanning industry development, partnerships, member engagement, branding, marketing and programmes.

You will have the opportunity to work directly with SWA members, government agencies, industry leaders and international partners, while gaining exposure to Singapore’s water and sustainability ecosystem.

We are open to candidates with 2–3 years of relevant experience as well as outstanding fresh graduates who demonstrate strong potential, initiative and a willingness to learn.

Role Purpose

The Manager / Executive will support SWA in:

  • strengthening engagement with members and the wider water ecosystem;
  • developing industry and strategic partnerships;
  • identifying opportunities that create value for SWA members;
  • strengthening SWA’s brand, marketing and communications; and
  • developing and delivering programmes, events and platforms that bring the industry together.

The role is intended to be hands-on and developmental, with opportunities to take increasing ownership as experience and capability grow.

Key Responsibilities

1.Industry & Member Engagement

  • Engage SWA members and understand their capabilities, needs and interests.
  • Support member engagement activities and initiatives.
  • Research industry developments, technologies and market opportunities.
  • Help identify opportunities to strengthen membership value and attract new members.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with companies and stakeholders across the water ecosystem.

2.Partnerships & Opportunities

  • Support engagement with government agencies, asset owners, industry partners and international organisations.
  • Identify potential collaboration and business opportunities for SWA and its members.
  • Support business matching, industry briefings, delegations and market-development activities.
  • Assist in developing partnerships that bring value and opportunities to SWA members.
  • Support internationalisation activities and overseas programmes.

3.Branding, Marketing & Communications

  • Support SWA’s branding and marketing initiatives in line with SWA2.0+.
  • Develop content for SWA’s website, newsletters, social media and other channels.
  • Help showcase SWA members, their technologies, capabilities and achievements.
  • Support campaigns and communications for SWA programmes and initiatives.
  • Help maintain a consistent and professional SWA brand across platforms and activities.

4.Programmes & Events

  • Support the planning and delivery of SWA forums, masterclasses, study trips, industry missions and other programmes.
  • Coordinate with speakers, members, partners and other stakeholders.
  • Support event communications, marketing and logistics.
  • Help develop new programme ideas that create meaningful engagement and value for members.
  • Follow up after programmes to build relationships and identify opportunities.

5.Secretariat Support & Projects

  • Support the MD, VPs and Secretariat on strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Conduct research, prepare presentations, briefing materials and reports.
  • Track project timelines, deliverables and stakeholder engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Secretariat.

We are looking for someone who is:

Curious — interested in learning about the water industry, technology and emerging opportunities.

Proactive — takes initiative, ownership, and responsible in your deliverables.

Communicative — able to write clearly and communicate confidently.

Organised — able to manage multiple activities and follow through on commitments.

Entrepreneurial — able to spot opportunities and turn ideas into action.

Team-oriented — enjoys working collaboratively in a small and dynamic team.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or degree in business, marketing, communications, engineering, environmental studies, sustainability, international business or a related discipline.
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience preferred, but outstanding fresh graduates will also be considered.
  • Experience in marketing, business development, partnerships, events, communications, industry associations or related areas would be an advantage.
  • Interest in the water, infrastructure, sustainability or technology sectors would be an advantage.
  • Good proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Comfortable with digital platforms and social media.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office / Google Workspace.

This is an opportunity to build a career in industry development, partnerships and ecosystem building, with exposure to a wide range of stakeholders and projects.

You will work in a lean Secretariat and have opportunities to:

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
