JOB DESCRIPTION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide safe, timely, and professional portering services for patients between wards, specialist clinics, departments, and external centres using wheelchairs, trolleys, or beds, ensuring proper transfer and lifting techniques at all times.
- Collect, deliver, and transport medical records, patient notes, medications, blood specimens, and other items between wards, departments, pharmacy, pathology, and external institutions, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and secure handling at all times.
- Conduct regular wheelchair collection and redistribution across designated areas to ensure sufficient availability for operational needs.
- Assist with the safe transfer of patients to and from Wheelchair Accessible Bus (WAB) services, ensuring patients are properly secured before each trip.
- Maintain accurate daily task records and ensure proper documentation and filing.
- Handle equipment and mobile devices responsibly, report defects promptly and ensure all equipment is returned after use.
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of work areas and comply with all Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
- Report incidents promptly and provide accurate information when required.
- Support productivity and service improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Full-time position with willingness to work 5 days per week with rotational off days.
- Hourly-rated positions and night shift positions are also available.
- No formal educational qualification required, candidates should be able to read, speak and write simple English.
- Basic IT knowledge and ability to use smartphones and electronic systems.
- Able to walk for prolonged periods.
- Candidates with prior healthcare, patient transfer, portering or similar experience will have an advantage

Work Schedule • 5 working days per week • Weekend work required & may include Public Holidays • Off days: Roster-based (not fixed, not consecutive days)
Fixed Shift Timing Options • 0730–1630 • 0800-1700 • 1200–2100 • 1300–2200 • 2100–0800 (4 days work week) • 2300–0800
Porter Hourly Work Schedule • Flexible hourly-rated role • Minimum commitment: 20 hours per week • Off days: Sundays & Public Holidays
Fixed Shift Timing 1100-1500 / 1600-2000 / 1700-2100
