Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Photographic Equipment Repair Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing and maintaining photographic equipment, including digital cameras, mirrorless cameras, DSLR cameras, lenses, studio lighting, cabinet, flashes and related accessories.

The candidate should have strong technical and troubleshooting skills, good attention to detail, and the ability to handle delicate and high-value equipment with care.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in cameras, lenses, flashes, studio lighting, dry cabinet and other photographic equipment.
  • Carry out repair, servicing, maintenance, adjustment and calibration of photographic equipment.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical and electronic fault diagnosis.
  • Replace defective components and parts where required.
  • Conduct sensor cleaning, lens cleaning and general equipment maintenance.
  • Perform post-repair testing to ensure equipment is functioning properly and meets required quality standards.
  • Use technical manuals, service information and diagnostic tools to identify and resolve equipment faults.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, equipment condition and service history.
  • Inspect equipment received for repair and identify additional faults or potential issues.
  • Communicate repair findings and technical issues clearly to the relevant team or customers when required.
  • Maintain proper handling and storage of customers' equipment to prevent damage or loss.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers or authorised service centres for technical support and specialised repairs when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe repair workstation.
  • Perform other technical or repair-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in photographic equipment repair, electronics repair, camera servicing or a related technical field.
  • Practical knowledge of digital cameras, mirrorless cameras, DSLR cameras, lenses and photographic accessories.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Basic knowledge of electronic and mechanical systems.
  • Experience using precision hand tools and electronic testing equipment.
  • Soldering and component-level repair experience will be an advantage.
  • Able to read and understand technical manuals, service documentation and diagrams.
  • Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
  • Able to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Responsible and careful when handling expensive and delicate equipment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills for service records and documentation.
  • Candidates with technical qualifications in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or related disciplines will have an advantage.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in repairing photographic equipment.
  • Experience with interchangeable lenses and autofocus systems.
  • Knowledge of camera sensor, shutter, aperture, optical and electronic systems.
  • Experience with component replacement, soldering and PCB-level troubleshooting.
  • Experience with professional or commercial photographic equipment.
  • Relevant manufacturer/service-centre training or certification.
