Drive Process Development, Technology Transfer & Manufacturing Excellence

Are you a Process Engineer with experience in pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environments and looking to take on technically challenging projects?

This role offers the opportunity to work across process engineering, technology transfer, process development, equipment qualification, process optimisation, and capital projects. You will collaborate with Technical Services, Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, Automation, and Project teams to deliver robust, compliant, and efficient manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Process Engineering activities and deliverables for capital projects, new product introductions, technology development, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide manufacturing engineering support throughout process development, technology transfer, scale-up, implementation, and commercialisation of new technologies.
  • Plan and execute process testing, engineering studies, experiments, and technical assessments associated with new processes, products, and technology transfers.
  • Work closely with Technical Services and project teams to define Critical Process Parameters (CPPs) and Key Process Parameters required for equipment and process validation.
  • Act as a technical subject matter expert for assigned equipment and manufacturing processes, supporting troubleshooting, investigations, design reviews, change controls, and capital planning.
  • Develop process concepts, processing schemes, feasibility assessments, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), and detailed project scopes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve process safety, product quality, yield, cost effectiveness, productivity, and material utilisation.
  • Support process and automation design activities, including control philosophies, instrumentation requirements, alarm configurations, and emergency/shutdown strategies.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain technical procedures, master batch records, and other manufacturing documentation in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Design and execute process studies, interpret technical data, and prepare study proposals, progress updates, development reports, and technical memoranda.
  • Assess emerging technologies and support their implementation to improve existing commercial manufacturing processes.
  • Lead scale-up activities from R&D through manufacturing, ensuring successful transfer and continued process robustness following product launch.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing and process issues and lead investigations into deviations using appropriate root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Recommend, implement, and monitor effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Participate in equipment URS development, retrofit projects, FATs, SATs, and equipment qualification activities.
  • Support Quality Risk Assessments (QRA) and process hazard analysis to identify and mitigate process-related risks.
  • Develop project scopes, preliminary cost estimates, and cost plans to support capital expenditure (CAPEX) proposals.
  • Manage several engineering projects simultaneously while balancing priorities, timelines, technical requirements, and business needs.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders and adapt effectively to changing project priorities and operational requirements.

Requirements

  • Degree in Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline, or higher.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Development, or a related function.
  • Experience within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or regulated manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, technical troubleshooting, investigation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal and teamwork capabilities, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong written, verbal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise competing requirements, and deliver according to project timelines.
  • Sound understanding of manufacturing processes, process development, technology transfer, scale-up, and technical operations.
  • Proactive and professional mindset with strong ownership, work ethics, attention to detail, and commitment to quality and compliance.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
