Roles & Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Hong Kong Investment Products Team and support the growth of a strong Private Banking franchise serving High-Net-Worth (HNW) clients.
  • Support the Head of Private Banking in providing investment market updates, product insights and investment ideas, as well as the placement and execution of OTC and listed investment trades across FX, Bonds, Equities, Funds and Structured Products.
  • Act as a key product and dealing contact for Private Banking Relationship Managers, supporting the delivery and servicing of investment products and trade-related activities for HNW clients.
  • Conduct market, product and competitor analysis to identify business opportunities, market trends and best practices, and translate business needs into requirements for system and platform enhancements.
  • Conduct due diligence and product reviews for new investment products and perform periodic reviews of existing products within the product shelf, working closely with relevant business counterparts.
  • Partner with the Hong Kong Investment Products Team to develop, generate and distribute investment ideas and market insights, and support RMs in articulating investment concepts and product features to HNW clients.
  • Oversee the dealing infrastructure, processes and systems supporting investment products, identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency, user experience and controls.
  • Manage and maintain relevant sales documentation, product agreements, dealing procedures and service level agreements, ensuring appropriate governance and documentation standards.
  • Work closely with Technology, Operations, Compliance, Risk Management and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of product launches, system enhancements, dealing processes and day-to-day operations.
  • Monitor developments in regional market practices, investment product trends and regulatory requirements, and support the enhancement of relevant systems, frameworks, processes and tools.
  • Support ad-hoc product, dealing and business initiatives as required by the Head of Private Banking and senior management.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • University degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Banking or a related discipline.
  • 5–7 years of relevant experience in Private Banking, Wealth Management, Investment Products, Dealing or a related function, with hands-on exposure to one or more of the following: FX, Bonds, Equities, Funds or Structured Products.
  • Strong understanding of investment products, financial markets and wealth management business practices, with good awareness of market developments and industry practices.
  • Experience in investment product management, dealing, trade execution, product due diligence or investment platform/process enhancement will be advantageous.
  • Existing CACS Modules 1 & 2 and relevant CMFAS modules (including M1, M2, M6, M7 and MS) are mandatory for the role.
  • Strong written and spoken English with the ability to communicate effectively with HNW clients, Relationship Managers and internal stakeholders.
  • Business proficiency in written and spoken Mandarin is preferred, particularly for communication and collaboration with the Hong Kong Investment Products Team and Chinese-speaking stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across Business, Technology, Operations, Compliance and Risk functions.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within tight timelines.
  • A proactive, commercially minded and detail-oriented approach, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced Private Banking environment.
