Join a Dynamic Procurement Team & Build Your Purchasing Expertise

We are looking for a Procurement Assistant to support day-to-day purchasing and procurement operations.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in purchase order processing, purchasing or order coordination, who is comfortable working with vendors, internal stakeholders and procurement systems.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Review purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy, following up with users on any discrepancies.
  • Identify suitable vendors and coordinate on pricing, product availability and delivery timelines.
  • Review quotations and benchmark pricing against previous purchase records.
  • Maintain and update relevant price lists.
  • Create new items and process purchase orders in SAP.
  • Support new vendor onboarding, including vendor creation and account setup.
  • Assist with EHS assessments for new vendors where required.
  • Communicate and negotiate with vendors to secure competitive pricing and favourable purchasing terms.
  • Process purchase requisitions into purchase orders and change orders promptly upon receiving final confirmation.
  • Ensure purchase orders receive the appropriate approvals and are issued to vendors and relevant users.
  • Follow up with vendors on order status, shipment and delivery, including expediting orders when required.
  • Respond to stakeholders regarding order status, changes and cancellations.
  • Support quarterly stock-taking activities.
  • Provide coverage for team members during planned and unplanned leave.
  • Assist with other procurement-related tasks and ad-hoc assignments as required.

What We’re Looking For

  • Diploma or equivalent qualification in any relevant discipline.
  • Prior experience in purchasing, procurement, order processing or purchase order administration.
  • Familiarity with SAP will be an advantage.
  • Good coordination, communication and follow-up skills.
  • Organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple requests effectively.
  • Comfortable working with vendors and internal stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
