About Our Client

Our client is a well-established global maritime organisation and a leading provider of container feeder shipping solutions. The organisation has built a strong reputation for operational excellence, innovation and reliable shipping services.

As part of its ongoing digital transformation journey, our client is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager, Product Owner to spearhead Master Data Management (MDM) initiatives, optimise business processes and drive technology-enabled improvements across its shipping operations.

This is an exciting opportunity for a maritime professional who enjoys bridging business and technology, collaborating with diverse stakeholders and delivering impactful digital solutions in a fast-paced international environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Ownership & MDM: Drive Master Data Management (MDM) product initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational requirements.
  • Business Requirements & Analysis: Engage stakeholders to gather, analyse and translate business needs into detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Product Roadmap & Backlog Management: Define product roadmaps, prioritise requirements and manage product backlogs to ensure timely delivery of business-critical initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the key liaison between business users, IT, Engineering and Quality Assurance teams to facilitate seamless solution development and implementation.
  • Digital Transformation & Process Improvement: Lead business process re-engineering, change management and transformation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Project Delivery & UAT: Oversee project scope, delivery milestones, stakeholder dependencies and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet business expectations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Product Adoption: Drive stakeholder alignment, manage expectations and promote successful product adoption to maximise business value.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Science or a related discipline.
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification is mandatory.
  • Prior experience in the maritime / shipping industry is essential, preferably within container shipping operations.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in complex Agile / Scrum software projects, Product Ownership or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience or good understanding of Master Data Management (MDM) systems and related business processes.
  • Strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Proven experience in product backlog management, business requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement and business process re-engineering.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders across different functions and seniority levels.
  • Proactive, adaptable and self-driven, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
