Professional Engineer (Electrical) – Lightning Protection
Job Description / Scope
We are seeking an experienced Professional Engineer (Electrical) [PE (Elect)] to provide professional engineering consultancy and technical support for Lightning Protection Systems (LPS) for a major temporary outdoor event.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional advice on lightning protection strategy, design philosophy and engineering solutions.

- Develop detailed LPS designs, calculations, technical specifications, drawings and tender documentation.
- Design/recommend appropriate solutions including lightning protection masts, catenary wire systems, grounding, bonding and earthing arrangements.
- Review contractors' shop drawings, material submissions, installation methods, method statements and testing/commissioning procedures.
- Conduct periodic site inspections during construction, rehearsal and event phases.

Mandatory Requirements
The candidate must be a suitably qualified Professional Engineer (Electrical).
Importantly, the tender specifically requires the PE(Elect) to have at least one previous experience providing lightning protection design for major event infrastructure, such as a national event, motorsport event (e.g. Formula 1), large-scale parade (e.g. Chingay), or another large-scale temporary event involving multiple structures/venues.
