The posting

About the role

Mokara is looking for a dedicated, versatile and team-oriented Recreational Programme Manager to lead the growth and quality of our recreational gymnastics programme. This is a leadership role for someone who is passionate about teaching, coach development and building strong systems.

You'll shape the structure and quality of the programme organising camps and events, supporting staff education, and working closely with the management team to strengthen lesson planning and coaching standards. A big part of the role is developing coaches: leading classroom-based training for new hires (including those with little or no gymnastics background) and building the structured materials and pathways that help coaches grow.

The ideal candidate brings sound gymnastics knowledge, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to develop coaches with clarity, consistency and care.

Role Responsibilities

Recreational programme structure and quality

– Work closely with the Recreational Programme Director to strengthen the structure, consistency and quality of the recreational programme.

– Assist in the creation, refinement and implementation of lesson plans for recreational classes across levels.

– Help maintain clear standards for class objectives, coach expectations, athlete progressions and teaching quality across the programme.

Camps, clinics and events

– Create, organise and manage recreational camps, clinics, special events and holiday programmes in collaboration with programme leadership.

– Ensure recreational events are well-structured, well-staffed, engaging and aligned with Mokara's standards and culture.

– Support operational planning for camps and events — scheduling, staffing support, logistics and programme flow.

Coach onboarding and classroom training

– Lead classroom-based training for new employees, including staff with little or no prior gymnastics experience.

– Create a structured, documented set of classroom-learning materials that any experienced coach can use to train new coaches. – Teach foundational concepts — class structure, athlete supervision, safety expectations, basic gymnastics terminology, equipment usage and introductory skill progressions.

– Support the onboarding and development of new coaches so they can teach confidently and professionally within Mokara's system.

Coach development and progression

– Provide ongoing classroom training and education for coaches seeking to progress to higher teaching levels.

– Help beginner coaches learn to teach more advanced recreational levels through structured education, progressions, observation and guided development.

– Contribute to a culture of professional growth — improving coaches' communication, technical understanding, class management and teaching confidence.

– Work with programme leadership to identify development pathways and support continuous improvement across the coaching team.

Requirements

– Prior experience coaching gymnastics.

– Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities across the recreational programme.

– Ability to communicate professionally in English, both spoken and written.

– CPR / First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain.

– Able to provide at least two references from former employers.

– Genuine enjoyment of working with children and helping them grow, both athletically and personally.

– Strong attention to detail in teaching technique, execution quality, safety standards and class structure.

– Team-first mindset: collaborative, coachable, professional and ego-free.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
