Key Responsibilities
- Manage metalwork projects from site survey and drawing coordination through fabrication, installation and final handover.
- Review project drawings, specifications and site conditions, and propose practical fabrication and installation solutions.
- Review and coordinate shop drawings, fabrication drawings and installation details using AutoCAD and other relevant design software.
- Coordinate fabrication of mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium structures, frames, brackets, enclosures, casings and customised metal components.
- Coordinate structural works
- Work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, fabrication teams and installation teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Plan and coordinate materials, manpower, fabrication schedules, delivery and onsite installation.
- Monitor project progress, timelines, costs and variation works, and resolve issues that may affect project completion.
- Conduct or coordinate quality inspections to ensure fabrication and installation comply with approved drawings and project requirements.
- Supervise site installation and resolve technical or site issues during project execution.
- Coordinate with Professional Engineers and relevant parties where structural calculations, endorsements or technical submissions are required.
- Maintain project documentation and coordinate inspections, rectification and final handover.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Building/Construction or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in metal fabrication, structural works, architectural metalwork, or similar projects.
- Good practical knowledge of metal fabrication and onsite installation.
- Able to read and understand technical, fabrication and construction drawings.
- Proficient in AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software will be an advantage.
- Familiar with fabrication involving mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium etc.
- Knowledge of welding, metal framing, brackets, base plates, anchoring systems and structural connections will be advantageous.
- Proficient in spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors and site teams.
- Strong project coordination, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Able to manage multiple projects and work independently when required.
- Comfortable conducting site surveys and supervising onsite installation works.
- Familiarity with Singapore construction/site practices, safety requirements and local project coordination will be an advantage.
- Previous experience working on MRT projects, rail-related projects or similar transport infrastructure projects will be highly advantageous.
- Class 3 driving licence will be an advantage.
