About the Practice

Projects, Energy and Infrastructure advises public and private sector clients on domestic and international projects spanning all infrastructure sectors including transport (road, rail, ports, airports), energy (oil &gas, power, renewables), social (hospitals, schools, prisons), defence and digital infrastructure.

Our team focuses on front-end projects work including project structuring, due diligence, documentation and contract negotiation, drawing upon particular expertise in construction law and public private partnerships(PPPs). They work closely with our other practice areas including Project Finance, Real Estate, Planning & Environment, Corporate and C&I Disputes to cover the full project lifecycle.

Joining the practice offers exposure to market‑leading projects, with opportunities to develop a well‑rounded skillset while working on transactions that have meaningful regional and global impact.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Finance lawyer with 4–8 years’ post‑qualification experience to join our growing Projects, Energy and Infrastructure practice. This role is ideally suited to a lawyer with a solid grounding in project finance, but applications from lawyers with a general finance background who are keen on gaining deeper exposure to energy, infrastructure, and project‑related transactions are also welcome.

You will work closely with the highly regarded Partners Ben Thompson, Ee Lynn Tan and Salonika Rathod, as well as other lawyers across the firm’s international network. The role offers hands‑on transactional experience, early client exposure, and strong development support, making it an excellent platform for lawyers looking to build a long‑term career in finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising on project finance transactions and other largely energy and infrastructure sector related financings, including acquisition finance and corporate finance.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating finance and transaction documentation
  • Supporting due diligence processes and assisting with the coordination of multi‑jurisdictional workstreams
  • Working closely with partners and senior lawyers on transaction execution and client delivery
  • Assisting with client development initiatives, knowledge sharing, and internal know‑how
  • Exploring opportunities to leverage AI and legal technology to improve efficiency and ways of working

To be successful in this role, you will be/have:-

  • Qualified lawyer with 4–8 years’ PQE in banking and finance, with a preference for project finance experience
  • Strong drafting skills and a keen interest in complex financing structures
  • Commercially minded with sound judgement and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment and managing competing priorities
  • Collaborative, proactive, and committed to delivering high‑quality client service
  • Demonstrates curiosity around innovation and AI in legal practice

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
