Job Specifications

  • · Ensure all food ingredients, nutrition blends,formulations and finished products are safe, fit for purpose, consistent inquality and compliant with applicable regulatory, customer and food safetyrequirements.
  • · Provide technical, QA/QC and R&D supportto the company’s manufacturing operations and commercial activities to supportbusiness growth.
  • · Manage the full spectrum of QA/QC activities,including raw material and ingredient checks, processing and in-processcontrols, critical control points, finished product verification and qualityrelease.
  • · Conduct and/or coordinate physico-chemical,microbiological and sensory testing, as well as product stability andshelf-life studies.
  • · Lead the development and improvement of foodingredients, nutrition blends, functional formulations and customised productsolutions, from concept and formulation through trials, costing, validation,production handover and scale-up.
  • · Develop and optimise formulations based onfunctionality, nutritional requirements, quality, sensory attributes, cost andmanufacturing capability.
  • · Work closely with Sales & Marketing,Production, Procurement, suppliers and customers to understand requirements,identify opportunities and develop commercially viable technical solutions.
  • · Support customer projects by providingtechnical advice, product recommendations, formulation support, product trialsand troubleshooting where required.
  • · Prepare and maintain product specifications,formulations, recipes, SOPs, test methods, technical data and other productdevelopment documentation.
  • · Ensure new and existing products comply withSFA, FSSC 22000, HACCP, ISO 22000, Halal and other applicable regulatory,customer and market requirements.
  • · Manage product quality issues, customercomplaints and non-conformances, including investigation, root cause analysisand implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • · Maintain and continuously improve thecompany’s food safety, quality and Halal management systems, includingdocumentation, internal inspections, audits and corrective actions.
  • · Liaise with SFA, certification bodies,customers and third-party auditors on food safety, quality, regulatory andtechnical matters.
  • · Identify opportunities to improve productquality, formulation performance, manufacturing efficiency and costcompetitiveness, including evaluation of new ingredients, technologies andprocesses.
  • · Maintain awareness of emerging ingredients,nutrition trends, functional technologies, processing methods and marketdevelopments to support product innovation.
  • · Identify food safety and quality trainingneeds and provide appropriate training and guidance to production and relevantstaff on hygiene, food safety and quality requirements.
  • · Prepare relevant QA, R&D and technicalreports for Management, including project updates, quality performance, productdevelopment progress and improvement initiatives.
  • · Maintain accurate and traceable records offormulations, trials, specifications, test results, product approvals and othertechnical information.
  • · Perform any other appropriate duties andresponsibilities as assigned by Management.
