Main Purpose of the Role

The Regional Senior Finance Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the full spectrum of finance, accounting, taxation, financial planning, and performance management activities.

The role serves as a regional finance business partner, providing strategic finance leadership and support across subsidiaries in Asia. It is also responsible for driving finance transformation initiatives, strengthening governance frameworks, and supporting the achievement of business and Group objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Finance Leadership

  • Act as a trusted finance business partner to regional business leaders and finance teams, providing commercial insights and strategic recommendations beyond traditional finance functions.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor finance transformation initiatives aligned with the Group's medium-term strategic plans.
  • Collaborate closely with company's Finance & Accounting Division to ensure regional finance strategies and policies support business objectives.
  • Lead and manage corporate finance projects, including mergers & acquisitions, divestments, restructuring, business integrations, joint ventures, and organizational redeployments.

Financial Governance & Compliance

  • Establish and maintain robust finance and accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee financial governance, risk management, treasury operations, and order management activities to ensure operational excellence and financial integrity.
  • Review financial statements, management reports, and accounting processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and effective risk mitigation.
  • Lead external audits, impairment assessments, and resolution of audit matters to ensure timely completion of statutory reporting requirements.

Planning, Budgeting & Analysis

  • Direct budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes across the region.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to support informed business and investment decisions.
  • Conduct financial modeling, industry analysis, investment evaluations, and due diligence activities where required.

Tax & Treasury Management

  • Develop and implement effective tax strategies while managing tax risks and ensuring compliance with all applicable tax regulations, including corporate income tax, GST, withholding tax, and transfer pricing requirements.
  • Oversee treasury management, including cash flow planning, foreign exchange exposure, funding strategies, debt management, and capital allocation.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize financing structures while maintaining appropriate financial risk controls.

Process Improvement & Capability Building

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance finance processes, operational efficiency, and internal control effectiveness.
  • Foster finance capability development and strengthen regional finance competencies across the company and its Asia-based subsidiaries.
  • Lead special projects and value-added initiatives as assigned.

Leadership & People Management

  • Lead the Finance and Planning Division, ensuring achievement of departmental objectives and strategic priorities.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities to finance team members across the company and regional subsidiaries.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, conduct regular reviews, and provide constructive feedback to support employee growth and accountability.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline; CA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
  • At least 15 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, taxation, and strategic financial management.
  • Minimum 5 years of regional APAC experience within multinational corporations, preferably Japanese multinational organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of Singapore accounting standards, financial regulations, and tax compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience managing mergers & acquisitions, business restructuring, spin-offs, or similar corporate transactions.
  • Strong people management and leadership experience.
  • Experience within the Manufacturing, Industrial, or Machinery sectors is advantageous.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English.
