Job Description

The successful candidate will work with Long Yuchen on determining the biomechanical and hydraulic regulations in the developing shoot apical meristem of Arabidopsis thaliana under a project on plant biomechanical research.

The main responsibilities of the position include:

  • Design and conduct experiments in plant biomechanics and developmental biology
  • Analyze experimental and theoretical data
  • Write manuscript
  • Supervise junior lab members and students
  • Various management duty like purchasing, safety, organization, and so on

Qualifications

PhD in Plant Developmental Biology and Biomechanics/ Mechanobiology.

Skills:

  • Bio-atomic force microscopy for plants, confocal microscopy, biomechanical analysis, plant gene editing, molecular biology and plant handling, physical modelling.

Experience:

  • Proven expertise in both plant developmental biology and plant biomechanics, especially in plant turgor pressure, is required. Good publication track record, good English language skill (oral and written).
