We are looking for a Research Fellow to conduct research in advanced electrocatalysis and electrochemical synthesis. The role will focus on catalyst design, reaction mechanisms, and process development for selective electrochemical conversion of organic molecules and related energy-conversion reactions. The candidate will independently design and conduct experiments, establish structure-activity/selectivity relationships, develop scalable electrochemical systems and prepare publications. Depending on experience, the candidate may pursue independent research projects aligned with the team’s research directions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, synthesize, and characterize electrocatalysts and electrode systems for selective electrochemical transformations of organic molecules and related energy-conversion reactions.
  • Conduct electrochemical measurements and reaction optimization to evaluate activity, selectivity, Faradaic efficiency, stability, and kinetics under relevant operating conditions.
  • Investigate reaction pathways and interfacial mechanisms using electrochemical analysis, product analysis, and appropriate materials characterization, and establish structure-activity/selectivity relationships.
  • Develop and optimize electrochemical reactors and scale-up strategies, including high-current-density operation and evaluation of process and techno-economic feasibility where relevant.
  • Analyze data independently, maintain clear research records, prepare manuscripts, patents, reports and presentations, mentor junior researchers, collaborate across projects, and support laboratory safety and operations.

Job Requirements:

  • A PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong background in electrochemistry and electrocatalysis, with research experience in electrocatalytic organic transformations, electrosynthesis, hydrogen/oxygen electrocatalysis, fuel cells, or related reactions
  • Hands-on experience in catalyst or materials synthesis, electrochemical testing, reaction optimization, quantitative product analysis, and/or mechanistic investigation
  • Experience in reaction pathway analysis, electrocatalytic kinetics, and structure-activity/selectivity relationships; experience in reactor engineering, scale-up, or techno-economic analysis would be an advantage
  • Strong research track record demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications, with the ability to plan and conduct research independently and solve problems systematically
  • Good teamwork, mentoring, organizational, and written and spoken communication skills

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
