The posting

Located within a conserved heritage shophouse on Purvis Street, TANOKE is a modern Japanese restaurant and sake bar offering contemporary Japanese cuisine, thoughtfully curated sake and warm hospitality.

With expansion plans in the pipeline, we are growing our team and looking for a friendly and dependable Restaurant Service Executive who takes pride in delivering an enjoyable dining experience.

No prior F&B experience is required, although previous restaurant or customer-service experience would be an advantage. Training will be provided.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Welcome guests warmly and assist them throughout their dining experience • Present menus, explain dishes and take food and beverage orders accurately • Serve food and beverages according to the restaurant’s service standards • Learn TANOKE’s menu, sake offerings and ongoing promotions • Set up and clear tables before, during and after service • Attend to guest requests and communicate feedback to the supervisor or manager • Assist with reservations, table arrangements and group bookings • Support private events and special restaurant operations • Assist with opening, closing and basic cashiering procedures • Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the dining areas and service stations • Replenish operating supplies and assist with stocktaking when required • Communicate closely with the kitchen and service teams • Identify what needs to be done and take the initiative to assist the team

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficient in spoken and written English/Mandarin, as the role requires regular communication with guests and team members
  • Friendly, positive and service-oriented
  • Responsible, punctual and willing to learn
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to remain composed during busy service periods
  • Comfortable working split shifts, evenings, weekends and public holidays
  • Able to support extended working hours during peak periods and private events
  • Able to commit to a minimum 44-hour work week

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • TANOKE’s dining and service areas are situated across two floors within a conserved shophouse.
  • The role requires team members to move frequently between both floors using the stairs while carrying trays, tableware, food, beverages and other service items. Candidates must be able to perform these duties safely throughout the shift.
