Key Responsibilities

1. Warehouse & Stock Management

  • Manage the overall arrangement and organisation of rice stocks within the warehouse.
  • Ensure different rice varieties, brands, pack sizes and batches are properly identified and stored.
  • Monitor stock levels and highlight low-stock, excess-stock or slow-moving items.
  • Conduct regular stock takes and ensure physical stock matches inventory records.
  • Keep the warehouse organised and ensure stocks are easily located and accessible.
  • Monitor the condition of rice stocks and report any damaged, wet, contaminated or unsuitable stock.

2. Rice Receiving & Quality Control (QC)

  • Inspect rice upon arrival to ensure the product received matches the purchased specifications and expected quality.
  • Check incoming rice against purchase orders, including: Rice variety/type Brand and country of origin Grade/specification Pack size and quantity Packaging condition Batch/lot information where applicable
  • Conduct basic visual and physical checks on incoming rice for issues such as damaged packaging, moisture, unusual odour, discoloration, pests or other visible quality concerns.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies between the rice purchased and the rice received.
  • Segregate or hold questionable stocks where necessary and inform the relevant operations/purchasing team before the stock is released for sale.
  • Maintain records of incoming stock and any quality issues identified.
  • Monitor recurring quality issues from suppliers and highlight them to management.
  • Ensure that only approved and acceptable stock is released into the warehouse inventory.

3. Inventory & Stock Movement

  • Track the movement of rice from receiving to storage, preparation and final delivery.
  • Ensure all stock movements are properly recorded and accounted for.
  • Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing stocks.
  • Work closely with the operations team to ensure sufficient stock is available for upcoming orders.
  • Identify discrepancies between physical stock and inventory records and assist in resolving them.

4. Order & Customer Requirements

  • Understand customer requirements and preferences, including the specific rice types, brands, pack sizes and quantities required.
  • Coordinate with the operations/sales team to ensure the correct products are prepared for each customer.
  • Ensure customer orders are accurately picked and prepared before collection or delivery.
  • Keep track of recurring customer requirements and communicate relevant information to the team.

5. Driver & Delivery Preparation

  • Prepare and organise stocks for rice drivers according to their daily delivery schedules.
  • Ensure the correct rice type, quantity and packaging are prepared before drivers leave the warehouse.
  • Coordinate with drivers on loading arrangements and delivery requirements.
  • Ensure outgoing stocks are properly checked and recorded.
  • Manage the flow of goods from warehouse to delivery point and ensure there are minimal delays or errors.

6. End-to-End Rice Flow Management

  • Oversee the movement of rice from the initial receiving point through warehouse storage, order preparation, loading and final delivery.
  • Ensure there is clear visibility of where each stock movement is going and its current status.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff, drivers and internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Identify bottlenecks or recurring operational issues and recommend improvements.

7. Warehouse Operations & SOP

  • Follow and improve warehouse procedures for receiving, storing, picking, stock taking and dispatching rice.
  • Assist in developing practical SOPs and processes to improve warehouse efficiency, stock accuracy and quality control.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping and organisation within the warehouse.
  • Assist with other warehouse and operations duties when required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in warehouse, inventory, logistics or operations is preferred.
  • Experience handling FMCG, food products or rice products will be an advantage.
  • Experience in basic food/product quality checking is an advantage.
  • Good understanding of inventory management and stock control.
  • Good organisational and coordination skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately count and track stock.
  • Able to identify basic product quality issues and discrepancies.
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on warehouse environment.
  • Able to communicate effectively with suppliers, drivers, customers and internal teams.
  • Able to work independently and take ownership of day-to-day warehouse operations.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory and stock recording.
  • Physically fit and comfortable with the nature of warehouse work.
