Job Summary

You will maintain and grow Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions sales in the Food & Beverage sector and support Industrial sector sales. You will establish direct customer sales operations, develop new business, and expand market share in Singapore.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and grow direct and indirect customer relationships across Singapore to increase sales in the Food & Beverage sector
  • Identify and convert new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, account mapping, networking, and customer engagement
  • Identify and engage design consultants and engineering contractors to specify Watson-Marlow products in upcoming projects
  • Provide customers and resellers with the most suitable equipment selections for their applications
  • Arrange and conduct customer training sessions and presentations, both on-site and in-office
  • Develop and execute account plans for key Food & Beverage customers, OEMs, system integrators, and engineering contractors
  • Monitor competitor activities and provide regular updates to management and team members
  • Organize and lead field trials to demonstrate product suitability and benefits
  • Collaborate with marketing to maintain brand presence and identify new market opportunities
  • Keep CRM systems updated with all customer interactions and project progress
  • Provide technical guidance and support to internal departments as needed
  • Collect and relay customer feedback on product improvements and complaints to enhance product offerings
  • Attend selected exhibitions regularly and prepare market reports and trend analyses
  • Conduct all activities in compliance with the Quality Management System
  • Prioritize workload and work independently within procedural guidelines
  • Travel nationally within Singapore and periodically regionally and internationally for training and conferences

Required competencies and certifications

  • Formal relevant engineering qualifications or strong business background
  • Minimum 4-5 years experience in business development or sales roles
  • Proficient in English writing and reading
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Proficient computer skills including Word for correspondence, Excel/Access for data analysis and presentation, Outlook for email and scheduling, and experience with ERP systems
  • Ability to lead and foster relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Fault finding and problem-solving skills

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Experience in the fluid handling industry (pumps) with active involvement in the Food & Beverage sector
  • Hunter/Farmer mindset to proactively seek and develop new sales leads
  • Strong writing skills
