The posting

We are seeking an experienced Sales Lead to drive the growth of marine aftermarket services, spare parts and lifecycle-support solutions.

  • Achieve revenue, margin and business-growth targets for spare parts and services.
  • Identify opportunities involving maintenance, repairs, retrofits, upgrades and long-term service agreements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with shipowners, ship managers, shipyards, vessel operators and other maritime customers.
  • Manage key accounts and identify opportunities to increase customer value and recurring revenue.
  • Lead the sales process from initial enquiry and technical evaluation through quotation, negotiation and closing.
  • Prepare commercial proposals, tenders and service agreements.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms and contractual conditions.
  • Work closely with Service, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain and Finance teams.
  • Review vessel operating profiles and recommend suitable aftermarket solutions.
  • Monitor market developments, fleet activity, competitor offerings and customer requirements.
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and prepare forecasts and management reports.
  • Support regional distributors, agents and service partners where applicable.
  • Improve customer satisfaction by ensuring timely communication and effective issue resolution.
  • Represent the organisation at customer meetings, exhibitions and maritime-industry events.
  • Guide and support members of the sales team when required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree or diploma in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business, Maritime Studies or a related discipline.
  • At least five to eight years of marine aftermarket, technical sales or business-development experience.
  • Strong understanding of marine spare parts, maintenance, repair, retrofit or lifecycle-support services.
  • Experience working with marine engines, propulsion systems, electrical systems or other vessel equipment would be advantageous.
  • Established relationships with shipowners, ship managers, shipyards or vessel operators.
  • Proven record of achieving sales and profitability targets.
  • Experience managing tenders, service agreements and complex commercial negotiations.
  • Strong commercial judgement, customer-management and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to interpret technical specifications and communicate solutions clearly.
  • Experience leading a sales team or coordinating regional partners would be beneficial.
  • Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
