Sales Manager – Marine Decarbonization

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Sales Manager – Decarbonization to develop and grow business opportunities within the maritime and offshore sectors.

The role will focus on promoting decarbonization, energy-efficiency and emissions-reduction solutions to shipowners, ship managers, fleet operators, shipyards and other maritime stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business, managing strategic accounts and guiding customers through the commercial and technical evaluation of decarbonization solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies for marine decarbonization and energy-efficiency solutions across Singapore and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities with shipowners, ship managers, charterers, shipyards and offshore operators.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with technical, procurement, sustainability and senior management stakeholders.
  • Understand customers' decarbonization objectives and recommend appropriate solutions based on their operational and commercial requirements.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation, customer engagement, solution development, proposal and quotation through to contract negotiation and closing.
  • Conduct customer meetings, presentations, technical discussions and commercial negotiations.
  • Work closely with engineering, technical and project teams to develop customized solutions for customers.
  • Prepare commercial proposals, tenders and presentations for decarbonization projects.
  • Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline and provide accurate sales forecasts to management.
  • Identify opportunities for retrofit projects, fleet-wide solutions and long-term service agreements.
  • Monitor developments in maritime emissions regulations, alternative fuels, carbon reduction technologies and industry trends.
  • Attend maritime conferences, exhibitions, industry forums and networking events to develop new business relationships.
  • Build strategic partnerships with technology providers, shipyards, engineering companies and other maritime stakeholders.
  • Develop existing accounts through cross-selling and up-selling of additional decarbonization and energy-efficiency solutions.
  • Negotiate commercial terms while maintaining appropriate margins and business objectives.
  • Provide regular market intelligence on competitors, pricing, customer requirements and emerging technologies.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Environmental Engineering, Business or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of B2B sales experience, preferably within the marine, shipping, offshore, energy or industrial technology sectors.
  • Experience selling marine technology, energy-efficiency, environmental or decarbonization solutions is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the maritime industry and vessel operations.
  • Existing network with shipowners, ship managers, shipyards or maritime technology companies would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop new business and manage strategic accounts.
  • Strong commercial, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to understand technical concepts and translate them into commercial value for customers.
  • Strong understanding of the commercial drivers behind vessel efficiency, fuel consumption and emissions reduction.
  • Comfortable engaging with both technical and senior management stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, commercially driven and able to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel within Asia-Pacific for customer meetings and business development.
