Lead marine sales strategy, customer development, and market expansion to drive sustainable revenue growth and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop the Sales team to achieve revenue and business objectives.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to grow revenue, market share, and the customer base within the marine sector.
- Monitor individual and team performance and implement improvement plans where required.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance sales culture focused on professional development and continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers and strategic accounts.
- Identify customer requirements and develop appropriate solutions in collaboration with technical and operational teams.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across territories, customer segments, and product or service categories.
- Lead commercial and contract negotiations through to successful closure.
- Monitor customer activities, vessel movements, fleet developments, and market conditions to anticipate customer needs and sales opportunities.
- Analyse market trends, competitor activities, customer behaviour, and industry developments to provide actionable recommendations.
- Develop strategies to improve performance across underperforming markets, customer segments, and product or service categories.
- Prepare sales performance reports, forecasts, and market insights for Management.
- Represent the business at maritime exhibitions, conferences, industry events, and customer meetings to strengthen market presence and develop business opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure sales initiatives support profitability and broader business objectives.
Requirements
- More than 5 years of sales and management experience within the shipbuilding, maritime, or heavy industry sectors.
- Experience within the marine equipment sector is an added advantage.
- Strong leadership, team management, and people development capabilities.
- Strong strategic planning, market analysis, and competitive research skills.
- Proven ability to develop customer relationships and identify commercial opportunities.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with effective follow-through.
- Willingness and ability to travel overseas when required.
Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
