Service Sales Manager – Marine & Offshore

Location: Singapore Industry: Marine & Offshore / Shipping / Engineering

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Service Sales Manager to develop and grow the company's marine and offshore service business.

The role will focus on selling aftermarket, maintenance, repair, refurbishment, retrofit and technical service solutions to shipowners, ship managers, shipyards, offshore operators and marine engineering companies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, managing key accounts and increasing recurring service revenue across the assigned market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies for marine and offshore service and aftermarket solutions.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities with shipowners, ship managers, shipyards and offshore operators.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with technical superintendents, fleet managers, procurement teams and senior management.
  • Promote service contracts, preventive maintenance programmes, repair, overhaul, refurbishment and retrofit solutions.
  • Understand customers' operational and technical requirements and recommend appropriate service solutions.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle from lead generation, customer visits and technical discussions through to quotation, negotiation and contract closing.
  • Prepare commercial proposals, quotations and tenders for service and retrofit projects.
  • Follow up on service enquiries and quotations to maximise conversion into confirmed orders.
  • Work closely with service engineers, project managers, technical teams and operations to develop suitable solutions for customers.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure customer requirements, project scope, pricing and delivery schedules are clearly communicated.
  • Develop long-term service agreements and recurring revenue opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell additional equipment, spare parts and technical services.
  • Conduct regular customer visits and maintain a strong sales pipeline within the assigned territory.
  • Monitor competitor activities, market trends, customer requirements and developments within the marine and offshore industry.
  • Participate in maritime exhibitions, conferences and industry networking events to develop new business relationships.
  • Prepare regular sales forecasts, pipeline reports and market updates for management.
  • Negotiate commercial terms while maintaining appropriate margins and company objectives.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience within the marine, offshore, shipping, engineering or industrial sector.
  • Proven experience in service sales, aftermarket sales, technical sales or marine equipment sales.
  • Strong understanding of marine equipment, machinery and vessel operations.
  • Existing relationships with shipowners, ship managers, shipyards or offshore companies would be advantageous.
  • Proven track record in developing new business and achieving sales targets.
  • Strong commercial, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to understand technical requirements and translate them into commercially viable service solutions.
  • Strong customer relationship and account management skills.
  • Comfortable engaging with both technical and senior-level stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented and able to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel locally and internationally when required.
