📢 Science Laboratory Technician

💰 Salary: $14/hour, approx. $2,124/month 📅 Contract Duration: 1 year, subject to extension for up to 1 year 🗓️ Contract Period: Dec 2026 – Nov 2027 ⏰ Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:15am – 2:15pm, inclusive of 0.5-hour meal break

🚫 Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays. 🚫 Service not required during the following periods:

  • 1 Dec 2026 – 27 Dec 2026
  • 31 May 2027 – 23 Jun 2027
  • 1 Dec 2027 – 27 Dec 2027
  • 29 May 2028 – 21 Jun 2028

🎓 Job Requirements

  • GCE O-Level with passes in Science subjects, or Nitec/Higher Nitec in a Science-related discipline.
  • Basic knowledge of scientific apparatus and laboratory procedures.
  • Able to handle reagents and simple experimental setups.
  • Prior school laboratory experience is advantageous; fresh graduates are welcome.
  • Responsible, safety-conscious and organised.
  • Good communication skills and able to work independently.

📋 Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare materials, apparatus and specimens for Science lessons and practical assessments.
  • Set up, test and clean up experimental equipment before and after lessons.
  • Assist teachers with practical lessons, demonstrations and experiments.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of laboratory equipment and facilities.
  • Support the safe handling, storage and disposal of chemicals and biological waste.
  • Conduct stocktaking, maintain inventory records and support procurement activities.
  • Maintain plants, living specimens and hydroponic systems used for learning activities.
  • Support Science department activities and other duties as assigned.
