Our Client, a Financial Advisory Company is seeking a sharp and versatile Senior Actuarial Analyst to join their growing actuarial function. The ideal candidate has strong actuarial foundations in life, health, and/or investment-linked products, combined with the practical toolkit of a senior BA, from API testing and data scripting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Actuarial Analysis & Modelling

• Support the Head of Actuarial in the analysis, development, and maintenance of actuarial models for life, health, and investment-linked insurance products across APAC markets.

• Conduct experience studies and assumption reviews including mortality, morbidity, persistency, and expense analyses and summarise findings for internal and client stakeholders.

• Assist in product pricing exercises building and validating rate tables, benefit illustrations, and premium calculations for new and existing product lines.

• Prepare and review actuarial reserve calculations and liability valuations in support of IFRS 17, RBC, and other applicable regulatory frameworks.

• Build, test, and document actuarial models in Python or R, progressively moving away from spreadsheet-heavy approaches toward scalable, code-based workflows.

• Support the preparation of actuarial opinions, certification letters, and regulatory submissions in coordination with the Head of Actuarial.

Business Analysis &Requirements

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, product, engineering, client delivery, and finance to gather, analyze, and document actuarial and business requirements for platform features and client solutions.

• Translate actuarial and business needs into clear functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance

• Conduct gap analyses between current actuarial workflows and desired future states

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Build and maintain advanced data models and financial analysis tools using Python, R, and Excel including dashboards, pivot analyses, and scenario modelling for internal and client use.

• Monitor and analyze key actuarial and product performance metrics including claims experience, lapse rates, profitability indicators, and pricing

• Design and execute data validation and test cases using Postman and scripting tools

Client & Stakeholder Support

• Support the Head of Actuarial in client-facing engagements including workshops, product review sessions, and data analysis requests from insurance carrier and financial advisory clients.

• Assist clients in understanding actuarial outputs, model assumptions, and pricing rationale translating technical results into business-friendly language.

Process Improvement &Innovation

• Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, or improve actuarial workflows from data ingestion and model execution to reporting and client delivery.

• Support the integration of AI and machine learning tools into actuarial processes including validation of ML-based pricing or claims models, and exploration of GenAI tools for actuarial report generation.

REQUIREMENTS

· Minimum 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in actuarial, actuarial consulting, or closely related analytical role with clear exposure to life, health, or investment-linked insurance products.

· Bachelor's degree or above in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Finance, or related field.

· Pursuing or holding an actuarial designation (ASA, FSA,AIA, FIA, or equivalent) from a recognized professional body

· Solid working knowledge of actuarial pricing, reserving, and product analysis across life, health, and/or investment-linked product lines in one or more APAC markets.

· Familiarity with IFRS 17 concepts

· Strong proficiency in Python or R for actuarial data analysis, model building, and automation

· Advanced Excel skills include complex formulas, pivot tables, scenario analysis, and dashboard design

· Experience with API testing and validation tools, particularly Postman, to support integration testing

· Demonstrated business analysis capabilities including requirements gathering, user story writing, gap analysis, and agile delivery support using JIRA or equivalent tools.
