Bank of China Singapore Branch (BOCSG) is looking to hire a Senior Assistant Director/ Deputy Director for its Structured Finance Team, housed under the Investment Banking Department, as part of the branch’s Investment Banking Division (the "Division").

In this job you will play an active contributor and advisory role in the management of the Structured Finance team's origination, structuring and execution of Leveraged and Syndicated Finance.

As part of the Division's ambition in providing strategic advice across M&A, Capital Markets and Debt solutions to BOCSG’s highest tier of global clients across all sectors, the Structured Finance team drives event-driven, transformational, complex debt financing transactions.

Role Overview

The Senior Assistant Director / Deputy Director in Leveraged & Syndicated Finance is a dual-function role spanning the origination, structuring, and execution of leveraged finance and syndicated loan transactions across the Asia-Pacific region. The incumbent will work closely with private equity sponsors, corporate clients, and multinational companies to deliver bespoke financing solutions across leveraged buyouts, acquisition finance, and strategic corporate events. This role sits at the intersection of client coverage, commercial structuring, and transaction execution, requiring strong analytical capabilities, market awareness, and stakeholder management skills.

Job description

1. Origination & Business Development

- Drive new mandate wins by proactively identifying capital-raising opportunities for corporate clients, multinational companies, and financial sponsors across Asia-Pacific.

- Lead the origination and structuring of leveraged finance transactions, including leveraged buyouts (LBOs), acquisition financings, cross-border M&As, major capital expenditures, and balance sheet refinancing.

- Evaluate event-driven financing opportunities and assess their commercial viability in the context of prevailing market conditions and lender appetite.

- Prepare and deliver high-impact pitch books, financing proposals, market updates, and client presentations to support business development and relationship management efforts.

- Cultivate and maintain senior-level relationships with C-suite executives, Treasurers, and CFOs, positioning the bank as a trusted lead arranger and bookrunner.

2. Commercial Structuring & Market Discovery

- Draw up optimal capital structures and determine competitive pricing, underwriting fees, and term sheet conditions that balance borrower requirements with institutional investor appetite.

- Formulate the commercial strategy for prospective transactions, determining the appropriate mandate structure — fully underwritten commitment or best-efforts syndication — based on asset risk profiles and market dynamics.

- Provide real-time loan market intelligence, liquidity updates, and trend analyses to internal coverage teams and clients to inform financing strategy.

3. Transaction Execution & Credit

- Lead and assist with full-cycle transaction execution, including financial modelling, valuation analysis, credit assessment, due diligence review, and preparation of credit papers.

- Present deal concepts and financing proposals to internal Risk Committees, defending the commercial rationale and macro market viability of proposed transactions to secure credit and underwriting approvals.

- Ensure the commercial intent and deal parameters of deal transition seamlessly into the execution phase upon mandate award

4. Client Coverage & Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Partner closely with Relationship Managers, Sector Coverage Bankers, product partners and syndicate distribution team to maximize wallet share and deliver integrated financing solutions.

- Act as the primary market expert for client coverage teams, providing ongoing market intelligence and structuring advice to support cross-sell of syndication capabilities into existing client portfolios.

- Work collaboratively across internal teams to ensure successful deal execution from origination through to financial close.

5. Portfolio Management & Compliance

- Manage the leveraged finance portfolio, monitoring transaction performance post-close, and tracking key credit metrics and covenant compliance.

- Ensure all transactions and client activities comply with internal credit policies, risk frameworks, and applicable regulatory requirements.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date deal records, pipeline reporting, and portfolio monitoring documentation.

Job Requirements: - Education: Bachelor Degree in preferably banking & finance, accounting, economics or equivalent

- More than 7 years of relevant experience in leveraged finance, syndicated loans, corporate banking, or a related product area within a financial institution

- Strong track record in origination, structuring, or execution of leveraged finance and/or syndicated loan transactions in Asia-Pacific markets

- Solid financial modelling, credit analysis, and valuation skills with experience preparing credit papers and credit committee materials

- Deep understanding of loan market dynamics, syndication mechanics, and leveraged capital structures across APAC

- Demonstrated ability to manage senior client relationships and engage effectively with C-suite stakeholders

- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex financing structures clearly to both internal and external audiences

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment, managing multiple transactions simultaneously

- Familiarity with APLMA/LMA documentation and relevant regulatory requirements in APAC jurisdictions

- Fluent in English with a strong preference for fluency in Mandarin as the role requires the candidate to liaise with clients base in Greater China

- Strong business development skills with broad market knowledge, client network and presence
