Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with strong hands-on experience in Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and IBM DB2 databases across both AWS cloud and on-premises/EC2 environments.

The candidate should have strong expertise in Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, AWS RDS/Aurora, DB2 administration, Fix Pack and Java upgrades, ILMT compliance, database performance tuning, backup/recovery, security, patching, and high-availability/DR solutions.

Key Responsibilities

· Administer and support Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and IBM DB2 databases.

· Manage AWS RDS Oracle, RDS/Aurora MySQL, and RDS PostgreSQL environments.

· Manage DB2 and MySQL databases hosted on AWS EC2.

· Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

· Monitor database availability, performance, capacity, and resource utilization.

· Perform database backup, recovery, restore testing, and disaster recovery activities.

· Manage database users, roles, privileges, authentication, and security controls.

· Perform database performance and SQL tuning.

· Support production deployments, maintenance activities, incidents, and change requests.

Oracle DBA Skills

· Oracle Database 19c administration.

· Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and ASM.

· RMAN backup and recovery.

· Oracle performance and SQL tuning.

· Oracle patching, Release Updates (RU), and upgrades.

· Data Guard switchover/failover and DR activities.

· RAC and ASM troubleshooting.

· Oracle security, auditing, users, roles, and privileges.

MySQL Skills

· MySQL 5.7/8.0 administration.

· AWS RDS/Aurora MySQL administration.

· MySQL administration on AWS EC2.

· Backup and recovery.

· Replication and high availability.

· Performance monitoring and SQL tuning.

· User and privilege management.

· MySQL patching, upgrades, and vulnerability remediation.

· Troubleshooting connectivity, locking, replication, and performance issues.

PostgreSQL Skills

· PostgreSQL administration, preferably versions 17

· AWS RDS PostgreSQL administration.

· Backup and recovery using pg_dump/pg_restore and physical backups.

· Streaming replication and high availability.

· PostgreSQL performance and SQL tuning.

· PostgreSQL patching and major-version upgrades.

· User, role, and privilege management.

IBM DB2 Skills

· IBM DB2 database administration on AWS EC2/Linux.

· DB2 installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

· DB2 Fix Pack upgrades and security patching.

· DB2 Java/JDK upgrades and compatibility management.

· DB2 backup, recovery, restore, and DR activities.

· DB2 HADR and high-availability configuration.

· Troubleshooting DB2 database and application connectivity issues.

· Review IBM security advisories and perform vulnerability remediation.

IBM ILMT & License Compliance

· Manage and support IBM License Metric Tool (ILMT) requirements.

· Monitor DB2 software inventory and license usage.

· Maintain IBM licensing and compliance documentation.

· Support ILMT audits and provide required compliance evidence.

· Coordinate with infrastructure/licensing teams for IBM software compliance.

· Ensure DB2 Fix Pack and Java/JDK versions meet organizational security and compliance requirements.

AWS / Cloud Skills

· Hands-on administration of:

. Amazon RDS for Oracle

. Amazon RDS/Aurora MySQL

. Amazon RDS PostgreSQL

. MySQL and DB2 on Amazon EC2

· AWS backup and restore.

· CloudWatch monitoring and alerting.

· AWS security and database monitoring.

· AWS KMS, Secrets Manager, and IAM concepts.

· Database migration and cloud modernization experience.

· Understanding of AWS high availability, Multi-AZ, backup, and DR architecture.

Security & Compliance

· Database vulnerability assessment and remediation.

· Security patching and database version upgrades.

· Database auditing and logging.

· Password and privileged account management.

· Support security compliance and audit requirements.

· Review vendor security advisories for Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, DB2, and Java.

· Maintain evidence for security, backup, patching, and compliance activities
