Key Responsibilities
Electrical Engineering Support
• Review and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and cable/harness drawings.
• Support connector, terminal, and wire selection based on electrical and mechanical requirements.
• Assist with circuit continuity, wire gauge/current-carrying capacity, and grounding/shielding considerations.
• Support design-for-manufacturability (DFM) reviews for harness and box build assemblies.
• Create and maintain assembly work instructions, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
• Support root-cause analysis and corrective action for electrical/technical production issues.
Project Support
• Support customer projects from quotation through prototype, NPI, and production launch, under the direction of the Engineering Lead.
• Help develop and maintain project schedules, task lists, and status trackers.
• Track deliverables, open action items, and milestone dates; flag risks and delays proactively.
• Coordinate with engineering, production, quality, and procurement to keep projects moving.
• Prepare status updates and materials for internal and customer project reviews.
• Support processing of engineering change requests (ECO/ECN), including documentation and implementation tracking.
Manufacturing & Quality Support
• Support process development and improvement for harness manufacturing and box build assembly.
• Assist with first-article inspections, testing, and validation of new builds.
• Support PFMEA, risk assessments, and process validation activities.
• Help identify and implement continuous improvement, Lean, and quality initiatives on the production floor.
• Support IPC/WHMA-A-620 workmanship standards during builds and inspections.
Customer & Supplier Coordination
• Participate in customer and supplier meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions as needed.
• Assist with component and supplier technical evaluations under the guidance of the Engineering Lead.
• Support documentation for customer audits and regulatory/compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of experience in an electrical engineering role, ideally involving wire harness, cable assembly, box build, or electro-mechanical products.
• Working knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and basic circuit principles.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to track multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional and customer-facing interaction.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience supporting NPI (New Product Introduction) or prototype-to-production transitions.
• Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 wire harness workmanship standards is a plus.
• Exposure to project management tools or methodologies (e.g., MS Project, Agile, PMP fundamentals).
• Familiarity with CAD or E3 software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar).
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement practices.
