We’re looking to add a Senior Engineer, R&D (Mechanical) in Singapore. The position is based in our HQ at Ang Mo Kio.

As a Senior Engineer, R&D (Mechanical), you will:

Lead the end-to-end development of advanced mechanical parts, electro-mechanical subsystems, and fluidic/pneumatic mechanisms from concept through mass production. This role integrates robust technical design, analytical simulation, and cross-functional collaboration. The successful candidate executes rigorous technical analyses—including structural, thermal, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)—while leveraging Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodologies to optimize designs for performance, cost, and manufacturability. Serving as a key technical liaison, the engineer actively participates in client consultations, presents sophisticated design solutions, and partners with manufacturing teams and global suppliers. This position offers a strategic opportunity to contribute to technology roadmaps and deliver high-quality, compliant engineering solutions within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Execute both conceptual and detailed engineering designs for mechanical components, electro-mechanical subsystems, transmission system, and fluidic/pneumatic mechanisms.
  • Perform rigorous structural analysis (FEA), thermal simulation (CFD), airflow simulation (CFD), fluidic, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to validate, optimize, and align designs with performance, timeline, and cost targets.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute fabrication, assembly, and engineering evaluation builds to thoroughly validate prototypes against strict technical specifications.
  • Apply Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) methodologies to streamline production and optimize costs.
  • Author comprehensive technical specifications, requirements, and validation plans, while meticulously managing Bill of Materials (BOM) and 2D/3D engineering drawing
  • Lead technical discussions and present innovative design solutions to customers; provide expert technical support to enhance product manufacturability while reducing costs.
  • Partner closely with internal manufacturing teams and external part suppliers throughout the entire product lifecycle.
  • Act as a professional liaison for clients, providing transparent updates on product issues, design modifications, and engineering changes to secure necessary approvals
  • Assist leadership in generating technology roadmaps that align with long-term business expectations and market trends.
  • Execute additional engineering duties and reasonable assignments as required to support business operations.

Requirements

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering/Mechatronics engineering.
  • >10 years of experience in R&D and new product development
  • Proficient in CAD tools such as SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge in Part Manufacturing technologies such as Injection Molding, Die-Casting, Precision Machining, surface coating/finishing and Inspection methods
  • Strong knowledge and experience in product design and mechanisms, and product industrialization is preferred
  • Good knowledge and experience in product design, designing of robust electro-mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Tolerance Stack-up Analysis.
  • Proficiency in simulation tools, mechanical FEA and programming skills (e.g., Python) would be an added advantage
  • Experience in lab automation equipment, such as motion control, fluidic pumps, and valves or packaging design is a plus.
  • Knowledge of medical product compliance standards such as ISO13485 would be advantageous.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Self-driven team player who is able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Independently able to perform DFMEA, DOE, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Report preparation etc.
  • Efficient in oral and written communication, and preparation of presentation slides/materials
  • Overseas travel may be required

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
