Position Overview

The Senior Engineer, Supplier Quality is responsible for managing supplier quality performance and ensuring compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements. The role covers supplier qualification, audits, nonconformance resolution, quality improvement, and NPI support, while working with suppliers and cross-functional teams to reduce defects, manage quality risks, and improve supplier performance.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain supplier quality requirements and standards in accordance with company, customer, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Assess and monitor supplier performance using KPIs such as PPM, defect rates, delivery quality, process capability, and corrective action effectiveness, and recommend appropriate improvement actions.
  • Manage supplier quality issues through containment, root cause analysis, 8D/CAPA, corrective actions, and effectiveness verification to ensure timely and sustainable resolution.
  • Conduct supplier process, product, and quality system audits, evaluate process capability and quality risks, document findings, and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Provide quality engineering support for new supplier qualification and new product introduction, including review of FAI/FAIR, PFMEA, control plans, inspection criteria, and capability studies.
  • Work closely with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and suppliers to resolve quality issues, communicate requirements, assess risks, and implement agreed corrective actions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve supplier processes and product quality, and participate in initiatives to reduce defects, cost of poor quality, recurring nonconformances, and supply-related quality risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Industrial, Manufacturing) or related technical field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in supplier quality or manufacturing quality engineering, preferably in semiconductors, automotive, aerospace and electronics.
  • Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or AS9100.
  • Experience in supplier audits, PPAP, FAI, control plans, and FMEA, with proficiency in root cause analysis and corrective actions (8D, CAPA).
  • Good knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), quality tools, and data analysis, with strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills; as this role requires regular liaison with our suppliers in China.
