We seek a commercially driven Senior Manager to lead and grow business opportunities in the China market. This role focuses on building partnerships, managing client relationships, and coordinating internal teams to support market expansion and company growth.

Job Summary

Lead China market development by identifying business opportunities, managing partnerships, and coordinating internal teams to deliver services to China-based clients and partners, driving the company’s growth and market expansion strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute market strategies aligned with company objectives to expand the China market presence
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, market segments, strategic partners, and clients in China
  • Conduct market research to monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities in China
  • Build and maintain a strong network of business contacts and strategic relationships within the China market
  • Represent the company at business meetings, industry events, exhibitions, and networking sessions in China
  • Lead the full business development cycle for new B2B partnerships, including engagement, needs assessment, proposal, negotiation, and partnership formation
  • Establish and sustain long-term relationships with key partners and clients in China
  • Identify and develop strategic collaborations, joint initiatives, and cross-border business opportunities
  • Collaborate with management to evaluate potential partnerships and commercial opportunities
  • Serve as senior point of contact for key China-based clients and partners, understanding their requirements and coordinating internal teams to deliver solutions
  • Maintain regular communication and follow up on business opportunities, projects, and partnership matters
  • Manage escalated client or partner issues and coordinate resolutions with relevant departments
  • Develop strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders in China
  • Coordinate with Sales, Operations, Finance, Marketing, and Management teams to ensure effective execution of China-market activities
  • Oversee progress of China-related projects, programs, and business initiatives, ensuring smooth handover to operational teams
  • Monitor service delivery and identify improvement areas based on market and client feedback
  • Establish processes and reporting mechanisms for China-market activities
  • Provide leadership and support to team members managing China-market accounts and activities
  • Guide junior staff on client communication, partner management, and business development
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives for the China market
  • Foster collaboration between the China-market team and other departments
  • Monitor China-market pipeline, business opportunities, partnerships, and commercial performance
  • Prepare regular management reports on market activities, business development progress, and key opportunities
  • Analyze market performance and recommend areas for growth and development
  • Support management in setting business priorities, targets, and strategies for the China market

Required competencies and certifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, International Business, or related discipline
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in business development, account management, market development, partnerships, or related commercial functions
  • Proven experience working with the China market and Chinese clients, partners, or organizations
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English to manage China-based clients and stakeholders effectively

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Strong understanding of Chinese business practices and cross-border communication
  • Demonstrated skills in business development, negotiation, and relationship management
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify and develop business opportunities
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with multiple internal teams
  • Willingness to travel to China when required
