The posting

We are seeking an experienced Senior Production Support Engineer to provide hands-on L2/L3 support for business-critical enterprise applications operating in a highly available 24x7 production environment.

The role requires strong technical troubleshooting across application, Linux/Unix, database, API, microservices, batch-processing and monitoring layers. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a structured production environment with rotational shifts and onsite operational support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on L2/L3 production support for business-critical applications operating in a 24x7 environment.

• Lead investigation and resolution of P1/P2 and other critical production incidents within defined SLA timelines.

• Troubleshoot application failures across Linux/Unix, databases, REST APIs, microservices, middleware and infrastructure layers.

• Perform Linux/Unix diagnostics covering CPU, memory, disk, processes, services, connectivity and application/system logs.

• Perform SQL-based investigation of production issues, including data validation, connectivity and transaction-related problems.

• Troubleshoot REST APIs, HTTP errors, application integrations and service-to-service communication issues.

• Monitor and recover failed batch workloads, scheduled jobs and upstream/downstream processing dependencies.

• Perform RCA and Problem Management for recurring incidents and drive permanent corrective/preventive actions.

• Use enterprise monitoring/observability tools such as Grafana, Kibana/ELK, AppDynamics or Prometheus for production investigation.

• Support CI/CD pipelines, application releases, production deployments, post-deployment validation and rollback activities.

• Develop/support operational automation using Shell, Python, JavaScript or Java.

• Coordinate incident resolution across Development, Database, Infrastructure, Network, Middleware, vendors and business teams.

• Maintain runbooks, operational procedures, incident records and production-support documentation.

• Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by supervisor

Mandatory Technical Requirements

• 5–9 years of hands-on Application Production Support / L2-L3 Production Support experience.

• Strong Linux/Unix production troubleshooting.

• Strong SQL and database troubleshooting.

• Hands-on P1/P2/major incident management.

• Incident Management, Problem Management and RCA experience.

• Batch processing/workload scheduling and job-failure recovery.

• REST API troubleshooting in production.

• Experience supporting distributed/microservices-based applications.

• Hands-on monitoring using Grafana, AppDynamics, Kibana/ELK or Prometheus.

• CI/CD pipeline and production deployment support.

• Shell, Python, JavaScript or Java scripting/programming exposure.

• Change and Release Management experience in controlled production environments.

Operational / Shift Requirements

• This is a fully onsite role. The successful candidate will be required to work from the designated client location; work-from-home/hybrid arrangements are not available for this position.

• Must be comfortable working on a rotational shift arrangement based on production-support requirements.

• Must be available for weekend and public-holiday support when scheduled as part of the support roster.

• Must participate in 24x7 production support/on-call coverage, including after-hours support where required.

• Must be available for planned weekend/night production releases, maintenance activities, patching, DR exercises and deployment support.

• Shift schedules and support rosters may change according to operational and business requirements.

• Candidates should be comfortable working in a high-pressure production environment requiring timely response to critical incidents.

Banking/financial-services production support experience; BMC Control-M or Autosys; ServiceNow; Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift; AWS/Azure/GCP; ITIL certification; and experience supporting high-volume transactional applications.

Important: This position is suitable for candidates specifically seeking a hands-on, fully onsite Production Support role involving rotational shifts, weekend/on-call coverage and 24x7 operational responsibilities.
