Position Summary

As a Senior Solution Engineer, you will lead the deployment, administration, and integration of engineering applications within the Hexagon SmartPlant ecosystem for our clients. You will deliver SmartPlant Foundation (SPF/SDx) implementations, engineering data migrations, and Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) solutions across external and internal projects, providing high-quality results to ensure that our business commitments are met and that our clients are satisfied.

You are expected to bring deep technical expertise, take ownership of complex engagements, and apply creativity and flexibility to overcoming technical challenges.

We are looking for experienced engineers with a proven track record in implementing and supporting commercial engineering software from companies such as Octave (Hexagon PPM/Octave) and AVEVA.

Your Responsibilities

Depending upon your level of expertise and experience, your responsibilities may include:

  • Setting up and configuring SPF environments, including IIS, SQL Server, Web Client, and Application Server
  • Editing metadata and custom class definitions using Schema Editor
  • Creating Data Map Files (DMF) and Loader Configuration Files (LCF), and performing bulk data loading through Data Loader
  • Delivering SPF data migration and SmartPlant project migration engagements
  • Integrating engineering design tools (Smart 3D, Smart P&ID, and Smart Instrumentation) with SPF
  • Implementing EDMS solutions using SPF and Aconex
  • Performing log analysis, SPF configuration validation, and SQL performance tuning
  • Managing engineering data across its full lifecycle, covering tags, documents, and assets
  • Conducting QA testing and providing end user training and configuration support
  • You are expected to be flexible with your working hours to accommodate communication across various international time zones with colleagues and clients.

Your Competencies

  • A graduate qualification in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar
  • With 3-5 years of experience in SmartPlant Foundation (SPF) and Hexagon SDx administration within the plant design industry.
  • Proven experience deploying and administering Smart 3D, Smart P&ID, Smart Instrumentation, and Smart Electrical
  • Demonstrated delivery of SPF implementations, data migrations, and design tool integrations
  • Experience with EDMS platforms, particularly SPF and Aconex
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL Server and Windows Server administration
  • Working knowledge of engineering disciplines, including Piping, Instrumentation, and 3D Modelling
  • Familiarity with Hexagon SDx Data Capture
  • Experience in oil and gas, refinery, or petrochemical projects is an advantage
  • Strong English language verbal and written communication skills (additional language skills are an advantage)
  • Ability to lead technical work independently and as a member of a team
  • A desire to master new technologies and solve problems
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality results.
