Our client, a well-established FMCG / food manufacturing organisation with international and regional markets, is looking for a Senior Supply Chain Planner to drive demand and supply planning across multiple markets.
This role will be responsible for developing accurate SKU-level forecasts, optimising inventory and production planning, and ensuring products are available across international and regional markets while minimising excess inventory and wastage.
Key Responsibilities
Demand Planning
- Maintain the master global demand schedule to provide clear long-term production visibility.
- Analyse historical sales, seasonality and market trends to develop rolling 12-month demand forecasts.
- Consolidate, review and validate monthly forecasts from international markets and regional distributors.
- Work closely with Sales and Marketing teams to incorporate promotions, tenders and seasonal demand fluctuations.
- Monitor forecast accuracy metrics such as MAPE and Bias, conduct root-cause analysis and improve forecasting models.
Supply & Production Planning
- Translate consolidated demand forecasts into Master Production Schedules (MPS).
- Develop monthly production and packaging schedules for internal manufacturing facilities and co-packers.
- Optimise production runs and factory capacity while minimising line changeovers and meeting market delivery requirements.
- Manage safety stock allocation across regional hubs and rebalance inventory based on changing market demand.
- Optimise inventory levels while considering product shelf life, slow-moving stock, obsolescence and write-offs.
- Lead and facilitate S&OP alignment discussions to resolve demand and supply gaps and minimise stockout risks.
Material & Constraint Management
- Partner with Procurement to ensure raw materials and packaging materials are available according to production requirements.
- Incorporate operational constraints such as raw material availability, fishing seasons, plant maintenance and public holiday shutdowns into supply planning.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to manage supply constraints and ensure continuity of production.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, International Business or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of hands-on demand / supply planning experience, preferably within food, beverage, perishable FMCG or manufacturing environments.
- Experience supporting regional or international markets is highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of demand forecasting, production planning, inventory management and S&OP.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Working knowledge of ERP / supply chain planning systems such as SAP IBP, Oracle or equivalent.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret demand and supply data.
- Good stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work across international markets and cross-functional teams.
- Adaptable and comfortable managing changing demand, production constraints and supply fluctuations.
